10050 Cielo Drive was the street address of a former luxury home in Benedict Canyon, in the west-central part of the Beverly Crest neighborhood of Los Angeles, bordering Beverly Hills, where three members of the Manson Family committed the Tate murders in 1969.
The property had a main residence, guest house, pool, and 2-story garage. The main house had been occupied by various famous Hollywood and music industry figures. In 1994, both houses were demolished and a new house was constructed on the site, and the street address was changed to 10066 Cielo Drive.
In February 1969, Roman Polanski and his wife Sharon Tate began renting the home from Altobelli. On August 9, 1969, the home became the scene of the murders of Sharon Tate, Wojciech Frykowski, Abigail Folger, Jay Sebring, and Steven Parent committed by Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, and Patricia Krenwinkel, members of the Manson Family cult. Charles Manson himself was an associate of Melcher and had previously visited the house. William Garretson, Altobelli's caretaker and an acquaintance of Parent, lived in the guest house behind the main house and was unaware of the murders until the next morning, when he was taken into custody by police officers who had arrived at the scene. He was later cleared of all charges.
In 1999, David Oman started helping his father build 'the house' on Cielo Drive, next to the infamous Sharon Tate Murders aka the Manson Murders - after 2 years of living in the house, Oman created a story based upon his experiences called "House at the End of the Drive." Every floor and every room has spirits and visitors...and some have said that it's almost like a giant spirit party. The Oman house has been on featured on Ghost Hunters, Dead Famous Live, Searching for Satan, My Ghost Story, Haunted History, Ghost Adventures and Paranormal Witness. David and the Oman House have also been featured on Larry King Live, EXTRA and TMZ and CBS News LA.

I just don’t get why people who do so much of this paranormal stuff still get so freaked out and scream and act shocked. Isn’t it pretty routine to them after awhile? Why so frightened? They never have anything happen to them to be so scared. That’s what makes me a disbeliever about these ghost hunters. Entertaining, but that’s it. Scott is always funny. 😂

It's all about the fakery and drama, and so many people fall for it. That brings ratings and likes. I believe in the supernatural, but I am highly suspect of places like this. I love Scott, but I don't doubt for a second that Mr. Oman has his house rigged for these sorts of events. The more things that happen, the more interest/attention will be generated. If nothing happened he'd have no attention.

On the most blustery, frigid, windy grey day, I found myself near jay Sebrings grave near Detroit. The cold wind whipped my hair all over the place as I walked through snow and ice covered grass searching for jays grave. It was under ice. As I stood there, I got a feeling of despair and great sorrow- not my imagination. I’ve been to many graves, famous and not. I’m a cemetery gal. The energy at jays grave was so negative I left quickly. I’m so sorry you were taken away so viciously and abruptly jay. Rest In Peace to all the victims. 😢❤

I’m a Nurse and I have encountered plenty of Spirits, and I still get spooked and say, “Oh Shit!” when I have felt them touch my hair because it feels like you have walked into a spider web or when my heart starts racing, a door slams than I feel real cold than I get spooked and say, “Oh Shit!” but not a loud scream on smaller signs. Too much sound and talking, spirits will not show up. It takes awhile for them to show up and it’s normally when it is quiet. I know how Scott feels about ghosts, so seeing him say, “I am getting too old for this shit!” I laughed!

I moved from the East coast to LA in '75 with a buddy from the Navy - van camping cross-country. He had a copy of Helter-Skelter, which had just come out the year before. He was taking a long time to read it, so I picked it up one afternoon in camp, and read it cover to cover - virtually non-stop - in about 3 days. One of the most exciting and freakiest things I'd ever read. The book was a literary tour guide of the murders, and when we got to LA and got our hands on the famous Thomas Bros. Mapbooks, we highlighted every address in the book, and just started seeking them out. Spahn Ranch was one of our first targets - we lived only minutes away in Canoga Park. It had burnt down a few years before, but we found the location and lots of charred debris. Cielo Drive was next - it looked much different then - just an old, tall, bent-up chain link fence and gate. The hillside was fairly barren - no fancy walls that I recall, and just an occasional house on the way up from Benedict Canyon Drive. It was a foreboding-looking location, and some of the yard, and a sliver of the house was visible from the gate. I believe it was unoccupied. We spent some time reconnoitering for better vantage points, and found an outstanding lookout from the hillside across the canyon - high up on Beverly Grove, or Tower Grove drive. A small turnout accommodated one car on the steep hill, from where we had a perfect, unobstructed view of the front of the house and the front and side yards. We'd sit up there with binoculars and scope out the grounds. We were so into the whole scene, we created an exclusive tour for our friends and family, and would take them on it when they'd come to visit. We'd lived in Sierra Madre for awhile, and had a close friend who knew a girl that went to Arcadia High with Leslie Van Houten. When the case went to retrial, we attended nearly everyday in the downtown courthouse. The girl that knew Van Houten asked us to give her a message if we could - we agreed. Some of the defendants would often be in the outer halls, accompanied by Bailiffs, during short recesses. Seeing Leslie at the drinking fountain one day, we walked up, introduced ourselves, explained our presence to the female Bailiff, and handed her the private note. She read it (we had not), and satisfied it was innocent enough, passed it to Van Houten. She read it, put it in her pocket, smiled - and thanked us, asking that we tell her friend that she was ok. She seemed perfectly normal - but, there was an unmistakable, tragically sinister vibe that seemed to hang over her - but yet - was not part of her. In this way, we came to be 2 degrees of separation from Charlie Manson. Even at 71 - it still creeps me out to think about it.

I watch “Valley Of The Dolls” sometimes because I love Sharon Tate. She’s so beautiful, talented and deserves to be alive today. She should have been still acting, enjoying her grandkids and life in general. My dad said he just got home from Vietnam the day Sharon was murdered. He told me one of his squad members talked about living on an old film ranch in California before he joined the Army. He was arrested, and since he was a first time offender he was offered either jail time or join the Army. He was arrested for stealing car at a gas station with another man who was living at the ranch. So there’s more members of “Charles Manson Cult” that we don’t even know about. There’s still people who worship him today, that’s scary especially how vulnerable people are today because of the internet.

I saw a video on this place the other day. The owner is very eccentric and wether you believe in the supernatural or not you can't deny it's an interesting home with some unexplainable happenings. Cool video Scott, thank you.

@@Lollylobesjewellery I hope Lolly you are saved, or you might one day rue your folly in that abode of condemnation. But don't take my word for it, go watch some testimonies of individuals who experienced a hellish NDE. Maybe some of them are fake, but some are convincing due to the sheer terror some of these people claim to have experienced before being resuscitated.

@@fredrikalarsson3962 Nay nay...that's the sole reason That Christ came to earth, man's sin required a sacrifice to achieve pardon, and God used his perfect son to take away that stain. Those who believe and are baptised will have eternal life. Those who deny Christ will receive their reward from Satan.
