Thank you for sharing. As someone who has severe motion sickness and can barely go to the next town let alone another state or country, I really enjoy these types of videos. I love seeing the two of you living your best lives.

Great episode my friend! I had a lot of fun helping out with this one (I'm synn). I also drove an hour to be in the path of totality for that eclipse, but it was in a random town in Indiana rather than a place so interesting as you guys were in.

Love this! 👏 Glad you had your own Tomb Raiding adventure! I visited Mexico in 2020 but didn’t visit half of I wanted to because it wasn’t really children friendly but loved everything that I seen. Thanks for sharing 🙌

Amazing Chris! 🤩 Looks like you guys had the best time - and you got to see that eclipse too! It's somewhere I've also longed to visit since my teens, after reading Heaven's Mirror (and that crystal skulls book as well!) I also loved how Underworld had levels in Mexico inspired by real ancient sites. Will definitely be making this trip in the next couple of years. I know a lot of the sites are quite spread out and some are pretty remote, so any travel tips are much appreciated 😊

Blimey, that was super interesting! Thanks for putting that together, you've definitely sold Mexico to me! (But a hard no to the spelunking, thanks! I avoid lifts as it is!) So many cool facts, and I would have squealed at seeing the sun stone in person! There is a level in Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine (a very good TR rip-off from the 90's) that takes place inside Teotihuacán, which gives a look at how TR might have handled a level in there 😅

Thank you for the video Chris. It's always interesting to see one's culture through someone else's eyes. I'm so glad you got to have your TR adventure over here. I already had my 'TR' experience walking through ruins in Rome and elsewhere in Italy. The site I soooooo want to visit is Angkor Wat. That's my parallel to your Teotihuacan.

"Don't climb. Don't climb. Don't climb. Don't climb," is definitely something I can relate to. It reminds me of the Tomb Raider Anniversary commentary where Toby Gard teased, "Get off that ancient piece of rock, you crazy monkey person!" With Jason Botta responding, "Yeah! You're going to break it!"😆 Great video! 💖💖💖 I hope this becomes a series with you or another Tomb Raider fan visiting Tomb Raider-Inspired locations and talking about it. I know some are already doing that with articles on the internet, but I like videos better.🤗

Chris and Alfredo...I could cry tears of joy hearing this wonderful story from you Chris - you did visit really some amazing places in this vacation and did become indeed two tomb raider! I love to see how this one temple is resampling xibalba, the living world and heaven...you can tell that crystal dynamics did their homework for underworld (and of course for shadow of). I like especially the place you visit in the middle of the video...this was really like the many temple-sites from underworld (-minus the rain), I can only imagine how stunning the silence + nature sounds had to be and to see those ruins. I would love to climb it, too xD and really, you need a lot of courage to swim through such caves - Lara would be proud of you two! Thank you so much for sharing this experience with us, I had a little tomb raider vacation last year in naples and pompeii, but to be honest your trip felt even more like a tomb raider trip...I'm stil a little bit jealous :p

I'm so happy that you and Alfredo got to explore so many ruins and other sites with ties to the Tomb Raider games, while getting to experience a total solar eclipse! I absolutely love learning about the myths and legends associated with these sites, and I can't wait to see you guys' future travels!

Wow. That looks like an amazing trip and then some. Say what you want about underworld - the level designers and art people really nailed the locations. Mexico and Thailand at least. By the way, if you like Aztec history and mythology, check out a book called ‘Servant of the Underworld’ by Aliette de Bodard. It might be right up your alley!

It's very interesting vlog! Thank You ❤❤❤😊 To be honest, I still wonder about going to Mexico and its wonderful places and ruins... For some time I gave up going there, because climbing is not allowed anymore, which really pisses me off😡🤬 Whoever decided that... I hate him from the bottom of my heart! And I really wonder do I want to go there, if I can't touch and climb, and at the same time I will give them the money and will increase the tourism of their country, because they don't deserve it, only because of that bullshit! Especially, when climbing was allowed before and so many people were lucky, back then. And now I feel cheated, because they were able to do it, but I am not, which is a shame. And it's ridiculous... It's the same with the pyramids in Egypt. Even if I go, I don't think I will be able to feel the full potential of this experience, if I only watch from distance. Well, I can watch them on Google and KZfaq, for free. What's the point of going on place, then!? That's ridiculous! Anyway... I am so happy for You, guys, for being enjoying Your trip❤❤❤❤😊😊 Whish You everything best and much more adventures together 🥳🥳🥳 I am so glad that, even despite the stupid restrictions, You were not upset and disappointed. I am sending You love❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗

They don’t allow climbing because modern technology has allowed them to discover that hundreds and thousands of tourist climbing on their ancient temples have caused them to degrade and collapse from the inside. They’ve stopped people climbing on them because they want these treasures to last, instead of crumbling to ruin over the next hundred years.

@@Raidercast Thanks for the answer, Chris❤️❤️❤️ Didn't know about that technology 😕 I've heard about damaging the ruins, but it was hard for me to believe that such an enormous and perfectly made building can be damaged from people, as it survives that long time in an open space. I also know that the ancients were very professional with building and even today we cannot surpass them, even with modern technology and materials. It's a wonder they actually go through damages, when people climb on them😱 Thank You again for the explanation ❤️ I hope I will be able to live with the fact I will never climb any of these ruins.. Just need some time, probably 😅 (Still feeling envious to those, who succeeded, when it was allowed...) At least, I will be able to enjoy the cenote and the cristal water in it😍😍😍 Thank You ❤️❤️❤️

What did Alfredo think of the structure that Spaniards called "el caracol" in Chichén itzá? this is the round structure seen atop at: 17:42, was it accessible? archeologists think it was an observatory for the celestial bodies, specially Venus.
