How many saints would you estimate are there in all of Christianity, including Catholic, Protestant, and of course, Orthodox? And have you personally experienced what you’d consider a miracle associated with any Saint that you asked to intercede on your behalf? Or have you known anyone who has witnessed a miracle when they asked a Saint to intercede? Nice wall of icons, Brother Dale. That room full of icons looked amazing, btw.

I have no estimate, although of course I am tempted to say 144,000. I have known several people who thought that the intercession of saints had helped them, although whether that should be considered a miracle or just how it works, I don't know.

Hi Dale, I’d like to know your thoughts on Exodus 20:4-6 has this commandment been abrogated regarding Icons?.

The official orthodox position is that icons are not graven. There are no statues in orthodox churches. The west obviously thinks differently. I fudge. I have a small statue of a shepherd looking like the earliest depictions of Christ that have survived. And, what about the seraphim on the ark? Or the pomegranates on the curtain?

@@dalecaldwell Thanks, I’ve been considering converting to Orthodoxy recently as I am from a Methodist background; I find the link between Eden and the tabernacle interesting as it’s meant to be a replica of the garden with the painted cherub and the East-facing entrance to the tent.
