A little while ago I got an email from Blushark. They saw one of my early videos and wanted to know if they could send me some straps to check out. Since I'm not one to turn down straps, I agreed. What showed up was a treasure trove of Leather & Nylon.

Blushark straps are amazing. I love their Original nato, the best "regular" nato strap on the market, without a doubt! 👏

I bought a Blushark that was on sale. It was a seat belt Bond Spector. No denying it the quality is there, and worth the price.

I'm digging the leather ones........I think the pricing is just about right. I have modified some of my NATO straps to convert to a single pass as you described. Kudos for getting a shot of that Scuba Dude in the video!!!

I do the same with my NATOs; I see no need to have the 2-layers on my wrist…it just makes the watch ride higher.

Huge fan. Got a bunch of their NATOs. They even replaced one that had a hole fray within first week no questions asked. Swapping the in/out year round and so far so good. Will buy more, prob test out there leather or canvas.

I like to put rally straps on chrono’s as the holes pair with the sub dials. I don’t like NATO’s or single pass straps because they scuff up the watch case backs. I’ll stick with two piece straps for that reason. But, to each his/her own.

Thanks for this review. I am a big fan of Blue Shark straps (particularly the two-piece quick-release nylon, which will tame a large unwieldy watch head better than anything else I’ve found) but have shied away from their leather offerings as I was concerned that they aren’t large enough for my big wrist. Regretfully, I see that I was correct. Hopefully that will change in the future.

Hey Shane. Hope you are well. Good review as always. I have a few BluShark NATOs and single pass. They are outstanding. I’m a Colareb guy for my leather. Not sure I’d switch.

Great quality straps. I have enough leather straps I think, maybe. But, I’m enjoying my BluShark purchases. Got the Hunter Green Alpha Shark for my green Melbourne Chrono and it’s perfect. The all canvas strap is very comfortable. Gonna get more canvas from BluShark. Looks like it will hold up really well.

The leather ones look like they ave the saddlers hand stitch which is good quality because if one stitch breaks it doesn’t affect the other stitches, however the compromise to keep costs down is to use a single keeper instead of the traditional two with the first stitched in. The sides of the leather should have been burnished or edge coated so in all not that good. The nylon straps look parity much what I can get anywhere for a lot less than they are asking but I’ll have to check the deals Great video as always 👍

Big fan of their elastic "Pajama" straps. The colours pop and hold-up after washing, and the straps feel sturdy. I wear them on Vostoks to get maximum kaleidoscope :-) Have you looked at their 2-piece canvas straps (CanvaSoft)? 3 for $36 is a great price but I'd like to know how stiff they are. New canvas straps tend to be unforgiving.

I really like the single pass weaves varieties, but wish they were a little less $, and that rally strap is also very cool. BluShark makes good stuff. Another great review, Shane. Btw, if you don't mind me asking, are those tarantula enclosures on the rack behind you?

Thanks for this. BluShark frequently pops up in my feeds, but they always seem JUST a bit more pricey. Especially the leather. Any chance you could compare the leather with a Barton leather strap? I've really enjoyed the Barton leather straps that I've had, and they're much less costly (or at least were last I looked). Also, have you ever purchased from CheapestNatoStraps out of Sweden? I've found some of their more recent straps to be amazing value as well. They also have the sharkfin pattern.

Great vid as always. Those 3 brown straps are not my fancy. Just not into brown straps. I did have one on my Swiss Military, but i changed it to a Hirsch ROBBY Watch Strap in BLACK / RED. The Upper Layer is Perforated Italian Calfskin, Lower Layer is Premium Caoutchouc (natural rubber). Very impressed Check them out.......BTW is there in the future any reviews on Swiss Military, Victorinox? Just curious.

The only thing I don't like about Blu Shark straps is the holes on their nylon straps are not ultrasonically sealed and fray quickly.

I've been buying straps from Haveston and they've also been making the move to single pass. I'm not a fan of single pass, I find visually there is too much of a gap at the lugs between the strap and my wrist.

I bought a alpha premier nato strap from blushark, couple months later i bought an seatbelt nato strap from aliexpress for less than a third of the price and let me tell you, they are the same. I mean same as in made in the same factory same. So i believe they are overpriced and i would not recommend them to you.

I've never understood the appeal of a double-pass NATO. Too long, too thick and too much hardware that doesn't offer any extra safety over a single-pass in the event of a spring bar failure. I like the RAF style single-pass straps with the long fixed fabric keeper that you can tuck the extra back in. A much tidier package.
