For anyone confused how dis works, when he puts the four cards containing the selected card ontop of one of the other piles, and than put the other two above it, it makes so when he puts the cards in the four rows, all of the cards in the pile containing the selected one will be second to last. Than when you pick the row with your card, it is already ordered so, that when put the cards side by side your card will be third to the left

It is shuffled within its group of 4, so after stacking two other groups of 4 on top of it, it will be anywhere from 9th to 12th from the top of the deck. So it will then be third in one off the groups in the next deal.

There is actually a longer version of this trick that is a lot of fun. Instead of 4 columns, you use 3 and go down once you hit 21 cards. Ditch the rest since the trick only needs 21. You ask them to pick a card, then without changing the order of the cards in the column, pick the cards up and stack them. Make sure the column of the card they picked is always in the middle of the stack. Then deal the cards into 3 colums all the way to the 21st card and repeat this process 2 more times by asking them in which column their card is in. After the 3rd stack, you pick up the stack, turn it over on the back side, and count to the 11th card and its ALWAYS their card. Idk how the math works but it always fun to do. Enjoy! P.S when they pick the card, ask for the column without you knowing the card. It's more exciting that way.

You have them put their batch of 4 on top on one pile of four. Then they mix up the other 8 cards and put them on top. So there are 4 cards, 4 cards of which one is the card, then 8 cards on top. You deal out 4, then 4 (the eight cards we mixed up), then the batch containing the one card. The final 4 were the bottom cards from the beginning. Therefore the card is always the 3rd in the pile that is chosen at the end.
@angeloflovestephАй бұрын
It took your explanation specifically (& watching 3 or 4 times) to finally get this so thank you!! 😍
@ProbablyBacon25 күн бұрын
It works by dividing the deck into ‘groups.’ Your card is part of one of four groups, each with four cards in them. By placing the group with your card in it on top of another one, disregarding your card’s position within that group, then putting the other cards on top, you’ve created a stack of cards where your card will always be either the fifth, sixth, seventh, or eighth card from the bottom. As such, by dealing the cards once more from left to right, the bottom four cards will always be on the first row, the next four cards will always be on the second row, and so on and so forth. Your card will always be on the second row out of four, face up. By picking the pile with your card in it, then inverting the order of the cards by turning them face down, your card will be the third from the top 100% of the time.

I didn't watch the other video explaining how he does it, but it's math. The card you picked will be in the group of four that are second from the bottom. Then, when you're dealing it out yourself, you're separating out that group of four into four new stacks going side to side. And you pick the stack your card is in, and deal it out in the same order. Basically, it's kinda like a matrix transformation.

I got how it works, you put 4 cards on top of 4 cards which makes the last two rows, and the rest of the cards make up the upper two rows. When you put the cards on the table near the end you put them in horizontal order so the second row from the bottom always contains the card you chose. Mixing the card piles separately is done for diversion. My dad once showed me a similar trick, but it worked by moving the cards around from one pile to another which in the end led to a specific order of the cards after mixing. It works similarly to this one. (my dad didn't know how the magic trick worked, he just knew how to do it so I had to figure it out myself as well)
@armywhammer-dc9qkАй бұрын

I know a similar one: First, you get a deck of 21 cards. Second, they pick a card and don’t show it to you. Third, you begin placing the cards into 3 piles of 7 cards, while alternating the piles consecutively and letting the person see the cards you place. Fourth, you ask them which of the 3 piles they saw their card in, you pick up all three and put the one with their card in the middle. Repeat 3 times. On the 4th time, their card is guaranteed to be the 11th one. You can even trick them that the trick failed on the 2nd or 3rd repeat, then just plainly asking them on the 4th’s 11th card. I think it works because the middle of 21 is 11, and you are essentially always keeping it in the middle of the deck. I’m not sure why it is guaranteed though.
@ensquare5649Ай бұрын
It's because when you place the first track of 4 down with the card selected, it's set up so that when divided across the 4 columns the second time, it'll always be in the third row. This is because it is essential a square, being a 4x4. It doesn't matter the column, just that you always have random pile first, x pile, then the rest.

I don't think you realize how long I've been trying to find this trick. It's been 10 years since I used to know how to do the trick. When I was taught the trick it was using a full deck of cards and I just remember when you put down the 7th card it was always that card without fail in any of the piles you put it in. While this trick uses only 16 cards, the concept is still the same and you could make up a reason like "the queen next to a 2 means I have to look in this pile and this pile has so and so meaning THIS is your card"
