First time I ever heard of this film was while visiting the Nasa space center museum In Houston TX. There was a little exhibit talking about the moon throughout history and a little clip of the infamous moon with a human face was shown. I'll never forget it.

A splendid documentary, outstanding in every respect! Friends and I just this afternoon saw for the first time "Le Voyage Dans la Lune" at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC and of course we were utterly enthralled. Then I found this superbly illuminating exposition only hours later on-line. Can't help wishing this could be played at the Museum too because, in its own way, it's as good as the film itself.

I find it gratifying to view a positive commentary on a film made at the outset of cinema, whereas some online sites present instead unfair, pseudointellectual accusations of sundry prejudices, failing to acknowledge the fine art and special effects still impressive to this day. It's truly disappointing that somebody as gifted as Georges Melies would go unappreciated for decades. - Ray Cabana, Jr.
