As someone who works in a small independent bookshop (like two staff members working at a time kind of small) seeing how many books were in Waterstones blows my mind in a good way! I wish we could stock that many books but we do our best!

I love that you are reading A Christmas Carol for class. Seeing the book always makes me smile and reminisce of how I was surprised there wasn't a second Marley in it, because I had watched the Muppet Christmas Carol as a child (think "Marley and Marley" aka Statler and Waldorf). I love your videos Ruby, they are very relaxing. I specially love when you talk about book recommendations and stuff. Before continuing I know you love autumn and Christmas and that's completely fine. But in relation to this video I have to say I would never be able to understand people and stores who start celebrating and putting all the stuff out for Christmas already in September/October. Chill out people, experience each thing in its own time, you are always thinking and living ahead instead of in the present. For those of us who do not enjoy the festivities very much and struggle with that time of the year every year, this is too much too soon. It literally gives me anxiety to think about it. And where I live it is not even cold yet, so please calm down. By the way, I love your channel and everything in it, do not misunderstand me please.

@@azul-t6m You're not alone in your opinion. The rampant commercialism of Western society, coupled with the secularisation of various festivals (albeit, arguably, one could argue that they were hijacked by certain religions in the first place), means that there is excessive jumping of the gun - and as soon as the festival itself arrives, the shops are already putting away the decorations and jumping the gun on the next one. All that being said, it does fill some people with joy - anticipation of a thing can be fun, after all - and though I despair of the gun jumping, I wouldn't deny others the happiness it can bring to them.

@@MS-19 I don't deny them of anything, they can do what they want. If they enjoy it good for them. But there is a lot of people who also struggle four months in advance too. And the worst part is that at this rate, one day stores will start in the middle of summer. I think each thing has its own time, but that's just my opinion. Anyways, it was just a thought.
