Did you decorate for the holiday? Did you give to a local theater or children’s hospital? How very presumptuous and judgmental to assume they haven’t given & that you can’t decorate and give. So silly & sad.

I lost 5 family members this year including my Mom! 3 friends of the family and my daughters friend (18 yrs old from cancer) Would u like their names to confirm the deaths? Obituaries are open records! My husband makes shit for $ cuz he works for the school district and I have chronic illness so it’s hard for me to work! For my birthday I asked people to give to a charity. I’m carrying on my Moms tradition of making banana bread and card w 10.00. She made 4 every year and gave to some customers she knew had no family & struggled financially. ( she worked in a pharmacy) and an Animal hospital! **regarding the Animal hospital....the week before she died suddenly, a woman couldn’t pay the last 20.00 on her bill to close the account for her dog. When the girl left, my Mom paid it for her. Didn’t tell her! SO IM GIVING THE HOSPITAL 100.00 on Jan 29th From now on for the hospital to use to pay somebody’s bill who is financially struggling. In my moms name! I also year round go to the dollar store and I take $100 (every 6 months).... I buy socks , toiletries, bottle of water, Gatorade, granola bars, and other stuff. I Make individual bags and keep them in my car. When I see someone who is homeless, I can give them to help give them a little comfort. My family is grieving and as much as I tried I could not put any decorations up this year , it just didn’t feel right. Financially we are struggling. We cannot afford any insurance and keeping groceries in the house is a strain .....but we get by. We do what we can to help others, because it’s the right thing to do! I am happy to provide any pics you might need if you feel that I might be making this up. I’m not the kind of person to lie or to make stuff up! I’ve grown up in a family that has always been grateful for what we have and always found a way to give to someone else who is struggling. As for the Dubrow family, I Already said that I’m sure her publicist will remind her to donate her things when she’s done with them. Anything else?

I don’t think they will be celebrating Easter. The Dubrows are Jewish. I remember them attending Temple on RHBH......beautiful decorations, though. Love the bow!

I noticed they didn’t have a menorah anywhere so I’m not sure what they believe in. Perhaps it is in a more private space- giving them the benefit of the doubt. I have an acquaintance who, along with her husband, don’t believe in God and yet the family celebrates Christmas. That has always struck me as odd. They deny Jesus but bring on Santa and the presents! Jesus is the reason for the season. Period.

I was thinking exactly the same. For the Jewish family that I know they are, she completely missed Hanukkah-themed decor. A few white-blue-silver elements would have made a huge difference. Maybe a Hanukkah-themed “sugar bar” in the kitchen? Very odd!

I love Hannukah decor. It's so needed right now. I think they're non-practicing. And very, very rich. So God has blessed them for at least another generation or two, they can leave that sort of thing to others to focus on and wonder.

Don't care. I was out helping to peel potatoes and clean the green beans for Christmas dinner at metropolitan ministries. I choose to do this . It makes me happy I am the lucky one. But more food and donations are needed. Every little bit helps. I love it when this elderly man drove up with his truck loaded with food. I too see joy in his face. Happy for those who need lots and lots of material things to be happy but the need is great for so many.

Let's hope that you and so many others speaking out will open Heather's eyes and do something positive, like matching the cost of the decorations and donating to charities who desperately are trying to help those in great need.
