This channel has slowly become a diamond in the rough. Aside from the good language learning advice, I just love your attitude to having fun on this platform and not taking things too seriously. I've gotten most of what there is to get out of language learning advice, but I still watch this channel just for the vibes.

@@goosejuice27 Lol that's just the game youtubers play to leech each other's viewers though, it's part of the business

I still haven't even watched Evan's whole reply because I got like 2 minutes in and was like "There are already 3 factually wrong things here, so this could take a while..." I think most of the "drama" was from his end. When I want to criticise someone, you'll know about it (see "Basketballers" video.) Technically Evan is actually leeching my views because my video is STILL outperforming his and his channel is 10x the size.

@@goosejuice27 I emailed him months ago, haven't heard back. I also didn't say he wasn't fluent. I said he wasn't fluent when he did those livestreams both of which were AFTER claiming he had become fluent... And he wasn't, and everyone who looks at those streams agrees. I think even Evan agrees but he's pretending to not notice that part of my argument.

1:04 Reading Danish is ok, trying to listen to spoken Danish is like listening to the amplified muffled dialogue from the movie your neighbours are watching. Trying to speak Danish is like mild clinical insanity while having a stroke 🤣

When I saw the title & thumbnail I thought this was gonna be a response to Evan's response 😅 Sorry your last video didn't do as well though

Thanks. I never know what to call this kind of thing. I did actually mess up the upload settings, that wasn't just me trying to come up with an excuse... it probably would have done badly anyway but it did even worse because I had VPN'd through Mexico when I uploaded and I saw that a disproportionate number of viewers in the first hour were from Mexico, and they would have immediately left because of the English and whatever else (not knowing my channel etc.) - I would reupload it but it seems like a mild gain.

Hmm, good question. I think I may have come up with that terminology around it... but also maybe not... A friend of mine who is quite a high achiever, and a business owner, told me about the concept of goals that people set often end up functioning as an upper limit. For example, he owns a phone shop, and say the shop has a target of 500 contracts for the month (no idea if that number is high or low... I made it up), but he realised that they were hitting that target but only just in all the months that he talked about the 500 contracts... But in months he talked about 1000, at first everyone laughed, but then he just kept talking about it... and they hit like 700. Not 1000... but suddenly the idea of 500 seems laughable. Just by talking about a different number, they increase their actual output by 40%... (I remember that doubling the goal was the increase he said, and that actual sales increased by 40%.) Obviously there are other things to consider, especially in language learning... But I think it's an interesting idea. Once upon a time, I thought I was fluent in Swedish... and the level I'm out now would have sounded like a native speaker to me (I don't actually sound like one)... and just by acknowledging that it could be better, I get better.
