In the clip with Minho and Melania, if u watch it back, you'll see that it was included not because he was standing next to her but because of the two girls standing in front of them. They both look calmly at Melania and then the one on the left (as we're watching) notices Minho, starts freaking out and points at him so her friend notices him as well. As soon as the second girl turns around and sees him she screams and freaks out. That's why Minho suddenly smiled with a surprised expression on his face. So they were chill about meeting Melania but when they realized they were standing next to Minho chaos and fangirling ensued.

Great reaction. Jonghyun was very vocal about his struggles. He always spoke about it in interviews etc sharing with his fans and expressed a lot through his music. He was also actively seeking help and always encouraging and comforting people who had struggles of their own through his radio show Blue Night. Unfortunately he had depression for most of his life and things became too much for him even after doing everything he could to heal.

Depression is an illness, a disease...it doesn't matter if someone with depression has nice live, people who support him/her, happy environment, etc. It's just eating you up from inside out. Jonghyun once said that being with SHINee helped him through it a lot...that was one of the best moment in his life.

i hope you don’t get scared away :( it was hard to listen to old songs and jonghyun’s solos for a while but his talent is INSANE and his music lives on.

I can't believe that it'll be the 3rd anniversary of Jonghyun's passing next month. It feels like it's been forever for me. His face and his voice are still freshly engraved in my mind and I still listen to his solo tracks. His last album that was released posthumously has so many vibrant, colorful songs, and the MV for "Shinin'" is also like that; his songs literally embody who he was as a person: a kind, beautiful, shining star, just a pretty soul, through and through.

SHINee and Shawols will always referred to in the present tense cause he will forever be in the hearts of SHINee and Shawols. We continue to cherish and remember him through his legacy, his works and comforting words. By always standing behind the boys, not only we get amazing comebacks but we also protect, care and provide strength to them to keep on doing what they love. Once you get to Our Page, a song the boys wrote for Jonghyun (in their last comeback before leaving for military), its about them continuing to carry on and fulfilling the dreams all five of them had when they were little boys. Their songs always touches your heart differently both the upbeat ones and also their incredible ballads. Of course their live stages are entirely on a different galaxy ( I always prefer those live stages over their amazing MVs). You're so in for an epic ride!

I miss our Bling Bling Jonghyun. To think about it, actually Jonghyun really open up about his depression. He talked about it on social media, variety shows, wrote a book, went to psychiatrist, unfortunately they didn't believe him and take it lightly. And what make me feel so sad is we are too late to notice him😭

Just so you know, Rntb is a typo, it should say "SHINee is an R&B boy group." SHINee are known for their R&B style of music. SHINee's fandom is SHINee World and for short we mashup the two words and it becomes Shawol for short (pronounced like Shy-wall in English or Show-all) May 25, 2020, was SHINee's 12th anniversary. So SHINee are part of the second generation of Kpop and yet they are younger than most everyone in their generation and are the same age or even younger than most other groups, such as EXO and BTS, etc. which are part of Kpop's third generation. SHINee debuted young and have the experience of seasoned veterans. It just goes to show you why they are legends in the industry. When SHINee debuted in 2008 Onew -- real name Lee Jinki -- (lead vocalist) was 18 (Onew is pronounced like Oh-New, which means or sounds like the characters that mean soft or gentle in Korean. He was given the stage name Onew because of his calm and gentle personality which makes him an amazing leader), Jonghyun (the main vocalist and songwriter) had just turned 18, Minho (the main rapper and sub-vocalist) and Key (lead vocalist and sub-rapper) were 16 and Taemin (Main dancer and lead vocalist) was 14,. So now after more than 12 years, they are all in their late 20's and early 30s. Onew will be 31 in December, Key just turned 29 in September, Minho will be 29 in December and Taemin just turned 27 in July. SHINee are still young, and yet, they are some of the most well respected artists in the industry. The reason why the audience screams so loud and Onew cries during this performance of "Rainy Blue" is because this was Onew's first solo performance since having vocal surgery. It was a really scary surgery because there was no guarantee that he would ever be able to sing again, let along at the same quality as he did before the surgery. Onew spent about 3 months after his surgery not being able to speak at all in order to give his vocal cords time to heal and then he had to learn to sing all over again. This performance was proof to himself and the fans that he could still do it and that nothing had changed. And, yes, Taemin plays the piano, and it's performances like this where he gets the nickname as our eternal maknae vampire. :D Some of the time. In certain performances and MVs the way Taemin is dressed and the whole aesthetic of the video or stage, such as in this "Rain Blue" performance, really does give off vampire vibes. One of the reasons why Key chose to come up with funny answers for that questionnaire is the fact that this Weekly Idol episode was part of their 10th anniversary promotions and so they have been on the show many times and had to fill out that same questionnaire almost every time, and they have answered those same questions dozens of more times for other variety shows. So, after that many years, it has become boring just to give a straight answer. They often try to come up with clever and funny answers to give them things to talk about and to create comedic moments in the show. What's particularity notable about the fact that Key said he is from New York, is the fact that he is fluent in English -- almost to the point you would think he is a native speaker. So, if you didn't know him, you might think he really was from New York. The amazing thing about Key's high note in "Like a Fire" is that if you listen to the original version on their album, he doesn't have a high note in that song. But during that performance, which is from their SHINee World Concert III (SWC3) in Seoul, he, out of nowhere, decided he wanted to add a high note. It's almost as if he decided he wanted to try and outdo Jonghyun who is the group's high note master and the one who has the high note right before Key in the song. :D That's Key's classic diva attitude. One slight error in this guide: Minho is actually the MAIN rapper of the group and Key is a sub-rapper. (To say Minho is the second rapper makes it sound like he isn't the one that raps the majority of the time in SHINee's songs.) Minho is credited with writing almost all of his rap sections in SHINee songs, which is proof that he is the main rapper. Minho will have songwriting credits on almost every one of SHINee's songs because he wrote the rap section. Also, Minho more than sings SOMEtimes, he sings just about as much as he raps in SHINee songs. He has the deepest voice out of all the members -- which is why he was made the main rapper -- so SHINee's songs don't often highlight his singing in the same way as the other members, but he is part of all of SHINee's harmonies. Also, by virtue of the fact that he is part of SM, means he also has an amazing voice. When you really get to know SHINee, you will see Minho has just as much vocal range as the rest of the members, and that is why SHINee's five-part harmonies are so outstanding. That is also Minho's classic iconic laugh. He laughs with his whole being and he lights up the room while doing it. In that same clip, Jonghyun fell down because, if you see that full clip, you will see that Minho was spraying water with a spray bottle and the floor was all wet. Before Jonghyun walked in the room the other members were playing around sort of making fun of a commercial they did for a Japanese ramen noodle company where they were each given a different dance move that they used to crush the noodles. SHINee debuted as Japanese artists in 2011 and they spends about 50% of their career in Japan doing events and concerts, etc. For every Korean album SHINee also has a Japanese album, but their songs aren't just remakes of their Korean songs, the majority of their Japanese songs are exclusively in Japanese. And that also includes Taemin's solo career -- for every Korean solo album, he usually follows it up with a Japanese album, as well. And yes, Obama actually talked about following SHINee at a press conference while he was president of the United States. That clip is 100% real. I've been waiting for something like this since you heard Replay, it just seemed like SHINee would be the perfect group for you so it's been worth the wait - confirmed when you listened to Sherlock/Juliette. When your eyes lit up listening to Shift, haha! I feel like 1 of 1 may be your favourite album but they're all so incredible, amped up to 200 when you get to watch the lives! What amazes me (among countless things) about SHINee is how distinctive their voices are but how beautifully they blend together - you can listen to any SHINee song and pick out not just the verses and choruses but even the ad-libs to figure out which member is singing what. Yes D, one of my favorite groups along with SuJu that were THEE hippest groups together, they were all singers, musicians, songwriters, and fashion icons, not to mention spoke different languages and well known actors, kind of like Exo....very talented, superior vocals.....Jonghyun, it's still hard for me...he was my bias... the sparkling voice resonates in my brain and those solo performances I will never forget, etched in my brain for life, unforgettable, impactful, full of emotion, only Chen comes close, because there are not many groups who are musicians and songwriters with mesmerizing vocals around like back then.....my yes, we have fantastic groups coming out every year, the talent is endless.....but Shinee's older bops and beautiful ballads, I have them all with me...Onew, singing "Nessun Dorma", the world's most famous aria, for which I learned Italian in school to sing and understand that song and many others, he sang it like a pro....Key the rapper who can sing, I thought was a cutie pie and loved his smile, he sometimes looked serious and intimidating, remind me of D.O. or Suga,.....and Minho I was in love with because of his dramas, especially "To the Beautiful You" which I watched 3 times over the year...I'm glad they did their service, now maknae Taemin's turn, in hope's of a reuniting in the future...if only🙏💙🌺

I'm sorry you went through tough times but I'm glad you overcame it. I started listening to kpop in 2014 and honestly didn't listen to SHINee much until Jonghyun released his album SHE IS. It was so good and made me take a second look at SHINee. He really was one of the biggest talents in kpop so it was a huge shock for all kpop fans when the news of his passing came out. It was also a difficult time for his fellow SM family. Suho was close to him and still is close to Minho because they trained together. I remember EXO attended to the funeral and the next day had to fly for a concert abroad where Suho sang EXO's Playboy that is written by Jonghyun. Jonghyun actually talked a lot to his boss about this problem but since SM Entertainment doesn’t want to provide mental help to their artists he couldn’t get help... then he turned to write songs about his depression and he talked to his friends about it but he never wanted to make himself a “bad person”... and I just want to say that I totally agree with you on finding even the smallest things to keep you going!

Being recent Shawol, I don't think I've watched this A Very Shinee Guide haha.. But I've seen most of the clips. Let me tell SHINee has an amazing ballads!! About Jonghyun in his letter he said that he went to a doctor but the doctor blamed Jonghyun and said it was because of his personality!! How can a doctor say this to a patient!!! fuxk that doctor and i hope he go to hell..After what happened with Jonghyun the members of SHINee changed so much especially Taemin ..
