In this episode I'm making a diy friendly baby gate / Stair gate / child gate, whatever you want to call it!
I've had lots of gates to make recently in the workshop, and I thought I could make this gate in a different way from my normal methods. In such a way that any diyer, beginner, newbie to woodworking can make one them selves.
I use "off the shelf" timber so no machining needed and use basic tools throughout, perfect for anyone who wants to give it a go!
Ps I was ment to add the video link for chopping out the hinges but will do as soon as I'm near a computer!

Im building this with barely no tools, having home depot cut the wood and I’m putting it together at home with just a drill, wood glue, screws and sanding paper. Wish me luck!

Thanks for sharing really clear steps on how to get this done on a budget. Do you have any suggestions on latch or lock hardware for the other side of gate? looking for something that is secure but also convenient for adults to flip open as needed

Another great video thanks! I'm a novice already half way through making something similar. Im a bit worried about 'racking' as there is no bracing etc with this type of design; any thoughts or tips on this? I also notice that you have the hand rail and base rail running the full width whereas i have already cut mine for the hand and base rails to sit within the outer-most uprights. Was this a rookie error on my part?

Great tutorial, must seem a faff when you DO own a domino 🤣! How does the Easy 1 filler compare to “proper” 2 pack wood filler like Ronseal? I’d seen elsewhere that car body fillers weren’t as good but if they perform and are about a 1/3 of the price, what’s not to like?!

It wasn't too bad, to be honest it's a quicker way, not rhe professional way but stilled worked 👍 With the filler, it's good stuff, never had problem, if they use it for cars in needs to be good. It's also a quarter of the price weight for weight and I've only ever used this for the last 10 years 👍
