Commenting again as I'm watching the vid. Up until a few months ago I used to live in Holme (for nearly 9 years) we named the big limestone at the edge of Holme Park Fell The Giants because from the bottom of the huge limestone pavement they are gigantic plus if you look at the right angle one of them has a face.

The whole Hill is called Farelton Fell and it has three main tops, Farelton Knott to the N/W, Newbiggin crags to the east and Holme Park Fell which is the highest point on the west side, across the pass is Hutton Roof Crags which has a Trig and has one of the most impressive limestone pavements 👍👍 great video my friend

Unfortunately they age and the sad bit is, given the chance, she would probably do the walk just to be with you. Wise choice to save her legs a bit. Hope she's well. I've got a bordie collie, blue, he's 5 and he's my best buddy when it come hiking and photo days and it'll be sad the day he can't do what he does now. Like fin, he's been up everything almost. They are the best hiking buddies 😊

Wow! The number of times I've driven past it and said to the missus, " I'm gunna go up there one day". Like you say it just looks the biz from the M6 but no one seems to mention it as a walk. Great vid pal and I'm definitely going up there in 2024. Thanx once again for yet another addition to my bucket list.

Thank you for a great video, I’ve done Malham a few times, the climb up Gordale then walking to the top of the cove is a great memory… then back to the hikers bar in The Buck in for a cooling half of hobgoblin. I’m 73 now & my days of hill walking are over so I get a great deal of pleasure from watching you KZfaqrs out there walking & wild camping, bless Fin, my Lola is 11 now & like me she can’t do long hikes anymore but we have some great memories.

I have been up Farleton fell 3 or 4 times years ago but from round the back, also did a wild camp with my son, we went up the front that time, surreal watching nightime motorway traffic from above. Also walked most of the Lancaster canal as well. I live in Barrow so probably not far from you.

YES! loved this one Glenn. Never been up here myself but since the late 80s I have driven from Sheffield and when seeing this Fell I know I’m almost home. Equally when leaving I know the visit is over when I see it on our route back to Sheff. Like you it’s played on my mind and I need to arrange a hike up there. On another note, I don’t know why but this episode reminded me of those Winter Walks that have been in BBC 4. It really would be a good addition to that series. Keep on giving, best channel on the tube

Driven past this hill on my way up the M6 from Nottingham many times and I've looked at it every time as my first marker of being near the lakes and something I'll one day walk up. The minute I saw the top it reminded me of the top of Malham cove. Happy memories of walks there with my daughter and across to Gordale scar (Ade Edmonson's favourite walk too). Great video again! Shown me what I'm missing as I'm thundering past.

I went over there a number of years ago, the limestone weathers rather differently to the Yorkshire Dales, it reminded me of parts of Mallorca with a rough abrasive surface rather than the smoother slippery when wet type. Perhaps laid down differently or different marine creatures?

If you decide to walk Ingleborough park at the station , Ribblehead then get a train down to Horton and then take the route up to Ingleborough from Horton station walk the route to Selber then when you reach the Pennine bridleway take a left turn and walk to the next stile about 400 yds then look over the wall into Crummach dale and some of the finest pavement in the country. When that is done retrace your path back to the crossover the left turn up to Selber and the under Simons fell with Gaping Gill to your left until you reach the summit. Again retrace your route to the drop off and instead of a right turn back to Horton go left and stay on the ridge until you get to Colt park above Ribblehead station. Angle slightly left and follow the well trodden route to the station which will take across the tracks in the sidings. Great walk and plenty to look at. Thanks for your videos, much appreciated, cheers.

So, sorry, about Poor little Finn not able to come on your Lakeland fell hikes. it's such shame, as she's so cute and adorable. I absolutely adore your videos and so look forward to your next posted video. This Saturday I decided to do a different walk and adventure and went to Holy Ireland and Bamburgh Castle..However, my heart and soul is in Lakeland and all I thought about whist at Holy Ireland was been back there in the Lakeland mountains and fells its just so breathtaking and the same distance to drive. I try different locations and different landscapes and history surroundings. It's just the Lakeland fells has won my heart and Scottish Munro's. when I try different locations I cart help thinking about the absolutely stunning views from the mountain summits nothing come close to the sheer beauty of the lakeland and Scottish mountains. I guess we must try different things and landscapes the Yorkshire Dales is another of my favourites the waterfalls are incredible and beautiful landscape. Ribblehead viaduct, the 3-peaks, Ingleton waterfall trail, Gaping gill, Malham Cove, Gordale Scar waterfall climb., Ingleborough cave. these places are incredible and Bronte country, Haworth the film location of the Railway children, steam trains, and Bronte sisters walk and waterfall. these are also stunning locations. and the incredible High Cup Nick. Thanks so much for all your videos. Kindest regards..... 👍👍👍

Great video, over many years passing on the M6 seeing that side where many times I see people paragliding off there. Impressive place really, also thought about going over to newbiggin crags and similar limestone to the area over looking Kendal/Oxenholme (mushroom shelter) and back over towards brigsteer/Levens. Lovely walk, oh and I think I'd have gone towards Crooklands hotel instead of towards Kirkby Lonsdale, (but that's just me) 🤣 ps, think you have a doppelgänger as I swear I saw you at Oxenholme train station.

I love these wide open spaces with only a few trees scattered about. I don't have a lot of that where I live. It's either fields, thick forests and some bald peaks in the high peaks region of the Adirondacks. Only problem I ever have with these videos (and it's a good problem to have), my eyes can't decide if I should watch the scenery or Finn scurrying around. I wish my own kids had as much fun hiking as she does!

Dull colours etc.. never had any interest in walking up it when there's the wonders of the dales, howgills and lakes next door to it, the gorse and limestone explains why it looks that way. May stop off one day soon now my interested has been peaked!
