BUY THE BOND 50 BLUE-RAY BOX SET: www.amazon.com/...

CLIP DESCRIPTION:
James Bond (Roger Moore) tries to talk up Stacey Sutton (Tanya Roberts).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Secret Agent 007 must stop a megalomaniacal technology mogul from destroying Silicon Valley in this fourteenth episode of the long-running James Bond series. Computer baron Max Zorin (Christopher Walken) is planning to trigger a major California earthquake in order to wipe out his competitors. Bond is dispatched to stop him in Europe, where he is partnered with Sir Godfrey Tibbet (Patrick MacNee). Sent in to slow down Bond and Company is Max Zorin's sadistic and murderous sidekick May Day (Grace Jones), the first of two Bond girls in the film (the other being Tanya Roberts). The expected high-wire confrontations ensue, including a parachute jump off the Eiffel Tower, a drive through the streets of Paris with a car cut in half, and a life-or-death struggle with a blimp on top of the Golden Gate Bridge. This production is most notable for the fact that it marked the final appearance of Roger Moore as the dashing Bond.

She was gorgeous, no doubt. But I don't find her character interesting, nor her acting any good. She barely sounds like she knows what she's talking about, her character barely has any independence, and is unbelievably stupid to not even notice AN AIRSHIP approaching her from behind, even when Bond yells at her to look out! She just comes off like another Tiffany Case from Diamonds Are Forever. I'm sure Tanya Roberts was a lovable person in real life, and it's a shame she died as she did. But that doesn't change my opinion.

@thylacinen4874
@thylacinen4874 7 жыл бұрын
Carolina Zampar Yes ! I know most people hate her, but I like her for the following reasons : Everytime a new actress takes on the role of a Bond Girl, she always states that her character is "a different kind of girl", "very equal to Bond" or that "she can use a gun". Fine...but these are not "special" or "different" at all. In fact, almost every Bond girl has been a "strong", "fighting" leading lady. Stacey Sutton was actually a REAL different kind of girl : she wasn't a secret agent, an exotic beauty living on an island, the mistress of some villain or a dangerous femme fatale. For a change, she was just a normal person, an "everyday people" and this is nice, for reality and credibility sake. She was a San Francisco citizen, workin in geology field and living in her family estate. She became involved in an adventure she didn't ask for. So of course she wasn't as brave or competent as a CIA or MI-6 agent, but she did the best she could to help Bond, and faced events with braveness. Plus, she's beautiful and was, at the time, one of the sexier actress around.
@carolrosachoque
@carolrosachoque 7 жыл бұрын
I couldn´t have said any better, you described exactly how I feel/think about Stacey. She is not the typical Bond girl, she is just a normal girl who faced a Bond adventure, really down to earth, someone we can identify with. The scene inside the mine where she explains Zorin's scheme to Bond is one of the best scenes of the movie. Tanya Roberts was/is a gorgeous and talented woman and no matter who will be the next Bond girl she will always be my favorite one.
