I love that mix with Doris Day and the 1950's commentary. Stumbled across a video last night of Doris Day's 90th birthday party this year. Great surprise to find her music in this video. Thanks.

I love love love Iowa city. I'm about 45 minutes away, so it's not too far but still a little ways away that it's kind of a convenient location to have a weekend vacation at. My uncle lives there and he loves it too. My favorite place to shop at is the Bread Garden Market and Bakery. They have everything you could possibly need. The restaurants are very high quality and absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go there again.

I like the music well enough (-: but Iowa City has completely lost its charm. 25 years ago it was a good place to live for all types of people (and their children). The Ped Mall was a great place to meet people and hang out. It was truly very cool. Now? It's a stuck-up shopping mall surrounded by condos. They swept out everything that was keeping the wealthier folks away (the fun & diverse stuff ~ the charm). So it's a great place if you like to drop $8 on a coffee, or, $100 on pork chops & a beer for three. After that, one can watch some has-been do their stuff at the Englert. As I said, it truly was a fun place back in the day ~ a genuine liberal arts town. But no longer. As for the cost of living....... through the roof!

Thanks. I lived in Iowa City During 1984 and 1985. The fountain area in the pedestrian mall was much more interesting and artistic back then. Did not care for the music. It did not remind me of the Iowa City environment.

Ah the good old days when the fxxking building wasn't there. Now it kinda destroys the peaceful aura of the city.

dmtagentsmith The new one next to the public library. A hotel of sort. Kinda futuristic looking.

I agree. It is a city full of rich, arrogant, evil people. The highest-paid surgeon at the University of Iowa Hospital - Dr. Patrick William Hitchon, intentionally paralyzed me, lied to me, hid my records, and destroyed my life. Nobody ever publishes the truth about this wicked city.
