Jon Stewart is 100% a political activist. The nicest thing I can say is that I don't know if his denial of it is delusion or dishonesty. It's easy for him to simply assert that he's a comedian first, but that isn't supported by evidence. In regards to his comedic profession, he's at most a comedian on the same level that he's liberal zealot. I think he has strong political views that he greatly desires to push on others, and he became aware that his gift for comedy was a perfect tool to achieve it.
