In 1986 George came to my hometown and wrestled Macho Man. I was in front row. After he won by DQ he points at me and said "you!" Waved me over - extended his hand and pulled me in the ring. So I'm with George in the ring and he tells me to eat the turnbuckle. The crowd went nuts and I became a life long fan. Thank you George/Jim.

Actually when he retired and worked as an agent for wwe backstage a lot of wrestlers said he was a terrible person and a true asshole to almost everybody, Bret hart said he was late to the arena by 3 or 4 minutes I think he said as champion and he said George yelled at him and threatened to have him punished to the max and tried treating him like he was George’s kid and I think Greg valentine said too that if you saw George you walked another direction cuz he likely was going to be a jerk to you and lash into you over something small and stupid. Now my personal experience I went to a show in Hershey in 88 and George wasn’t really wrestling much anymore at this time but he was jobbing out on the live show circuit that night he lost to One Man Gang and after the show in Hershey the wrestlers would go to the Turkey hill down the road and i would always go wait in the parking lot to get pics and autograph and George said to me “kid will you leave me be I dont want to deal with people anymore tonight I’m off the clock” I was 6 it hurt only George Steele and Brutus beefcake said no to me when I asked for pictures and autographs

It's 5 am and I have been awake all night recently been having a rough time with my health. I accidently found this video. When it started I listened to a childhood wrestler George the animal Steele. When the video finished I met Jim Myers..what a great humble man. When Jim tells his life story I couldn't quit watching. Very inspiring and literally inspired me to refocus on my life. Thank you for the video and bless the family for your loss . Heaven gained a Wonderful man. God bless!

I was an actor in the '90s. I was fortunate enough to have shot a commercial with this man. I was his body double. He was so kind and really took the time to talk with me as I was a fan of wrestling. He was a true gentleman, and had some great stories! Thanks Jim for the memories! I was literally his shadow for a week. It's something I'll hold near and dear to my heart. Rest in Peace, my friend.

As a fan of Mr. Myers (Steele), I was looking for some old matches when I came across this video. I can say that it made me so happy to hear his story in his own words, and what made me even happier was the fact that he was a believer in Christ! He set a wonderful testimony through his live and actions, and I feel my faith strengthened from listening to it. God bless your family and may he bring peace to all of them throughout these hard times, but thank God for the hope that you will be reunited with him in heaven!.

Thanks for this video. Thank you Jim for the many fun years of entertainment. I always tell the story that when I bought my first home in 1983 it was in Madison Heights, MI. on Bernie Lane I was one block from the high school and decided to walk over and watch their football team play. I was watching and noticed the head coach and how much he resembled a wrestler I had seen work many times. Minutes later I was informed it WAS George 'The Animal' Steele. He lived across the street from the school. Few knew all this as he tended to work WWE during the summers I recall. His brother was the school superintendent. Every time I met Jim and his wife they were always very kind to me. I was saddened to learn of the Lord calling him home and my hope is his wife and family find peace during this difficult time.

What a beautiful man and a beautiful story, George is so right, anyone who thinks they can walk through this world without JESUS is so wrong. My story is like Jim Meyers to the point of I was also on the wrong path until I got hit by a car when I was totally drunk and walking, because I was to drunk to drive, and the Lord honestly saved my life that day and I did a total 180 and cleaned up my act. My life since then is 100% better. Thank you JESUS. And may you forever rest in peace 🙏 George "the Animal"Steele.

I saw him wrestle in person as a kid against Alexis Smirnoff. I was sitting so close to the ring that when he started eating the turnbuckle I got some of the stuffing on me when George threw it into the crowd. I kept that junk for years as a souvenir from the show and even though I went to that show wanting to see Andre, Big John Studd and King Kong Bundy, George ended up being the best thing from that night. Respect to him.

I remember as a kid growing up in the 80's the craziness and oddities his skit involved. This is so heartwarming. Never knew this side of The Animal. Such a contradiction to his character 😆. Our kids are bigger fans of the previous generation of wrestlers than they are of the more current ones. I hear my kids, nephews, and their young friends talking about Andre, Ultimate Warrior, Sting, the Rock's dad and I'm completely blown away. Good to see these wrestling legends live on and hear their stories.

It's weird... I remember him way back, when the all the wrestlers we remember during his time were still alive, back in the late 80's/early 90's. But of ALL the wrestlers I used to like, I have a new-found respect for him, because I know I'll see him again! That's the most awesome part! Praise God! A wrestler who has lived beyond his WWF fame, because he's with Jesus! He's more famous to me now than he was back then! That's just unspeakably awesome! :-D
