Hey All, I hope you are staying safe and are well. I have been sitting on this video for a while but finally managed to get it done. What are your thoughts on the Reverso in general and the Duoface?

One of my favorites!!!

I adore the Reverso. A friend had his on at a Christmas party last year and I got an up close/opportunity to try it on. It was the Duo face with the black rather than blue. Simply incredible! A grail.....long term.

literally yesterday i was searching for some info on the reverso, and i thought there was not enough information out there. Lucky me, Ted comes to the rescue

What can I say? I'm wearing one of these (blue, plain case-back) right now as I watch this. I bought it in memory of my late mother and had the case-back suitably engraved. Would be the last man standing in my collection, if I ever had to start selling.

It's funny how some objects work. I've been loving the Reverso ever since I was first made aware of it - probably more than 20, 25 years ago. And I still see it as the only luxury dress-watch I would ever need. It's just so ... different. But in a timeless manner and without feeling gimmick-y at all. A true classic.

This video gave me a new appreciation for the Reverso. As an avid watcher of your videos, I know you've loved this one a long time but I didn't get it that much until you put out this video. I think this is a unique and classic piece and a much more attractive option than I originally gave it credit for. Keep up the good work, Teddy.

So much to appreciate in this video. The impressive in depth explanation of this timepiece, the video pacing and diversity in the shots keep the audience dialed in (pun intended). Big fan of the channel man, so underrated.

I love the Reverso, particularly the duel face variant. Definitely a grail watch for me. Stunning blue and white on the dials, doubly awesome!

The Reverso Hybris Mechanica Quadryptique is undoubtedly the watch that impressed me the most,it looks like it came from some other dimension or another Universe where things are just a little bit different,but this one might just be the best looking watch i have ever seen, truly stunning. Definitely something i aspire to own one day.

When you were showing the removable deployant clasp I notice the little slit they left on the strap for you to swap in a standard tang buckle if you still want to use the strap itself. These details really show that a proper enthusiast designed this watch. Possibly my favourite JLC yet together with the Enamel Moonphase Ultra Thin. Oh and a great review Teddy

Amazing watch. I've owned a day/night duo for a while, but this just made me want to trade it in for the duo tribute. Stunning piece. I do wish there were a few more technical specs in the review or wrist feel comments compared to a flat-back reverso.

I seen this model in person, and it was hands down the best looking dress watch I have tried on to date. This is up there with A. Lange as my grail dress watch.

Great review of one of the most iconic watches of all time. A lot of comments below of how this watch is beautiful but doesn't fit in with people's lifestyles which tends to lean towards the casual side. But, I disagree. I think because this watch oozes sophistication it can look damn cool with casual clothing as it is statement piece and the juxtaposition of dress and casual makes it even cooler. Steel sports watches are so ubiquitous now that they have become invisible on the wrist. Dress watches are becoming cool again. The Reverso will be in my collection soon.

Thanks for the Review Teddy. This one is on my radar since I tried it on at the JLC boutique. In two years I am celebrating my fiftieth birthday. My wife and I are planning to buy one for each other then. The only debate is the size. Grande Reverso looks more sporty and the medium size Reverso a little bit more dressy. I have a 8.1"wrist.

Excellent review! Is it my eyes or does the Day Night Face appear a warm pink in some lights? Stunning! My favourite Reverso would be the Salmon Pink Art Deco with the open worked skeletonized movement as the other side. I'm also a fan of the Grande Date. The layout on that one is really well designed and the reverse features a display caseback showing the movement. I love Reversos but unable to afford one just yet.

I agree with what you said at the end. Unfortunately, I don’t have the lifestyle to go with such an elegant watch. I’m an engineer and my everyday dress is just too casual for the reverso. If not for that, the large small seconds would definitely be my next purchase. But even with that said, I’m still considering it.

One of my most wanted watches

I tried this watch on at JLC Boutique in Mall of Emirates Dubai. It truly is unique and extremely elegant. Twice the price of a seamaster but in more ways then one... twice the watch!

Love the 1931 Duoface with the same dimensions but older hour actuator on the crown side. Great review and can see yours has been well loved. Your video definitely makes me want the arabics model with hour actuator on the top part of the case like yours.

Teddy, you inspired me to buy a Reverso which I just did today - a Gran'Sport Chronograph with very interesting complications: time/date on the front, and a chronograph with a 30 min. retrograde on the reverse!

Thomas Lim Thank you for your videos on watches. I enjoy your comments and views about a variety of budget as well as the high-ends time-pieces. I am in the market to purchase luxury watches and one of the watches I have always wanted to own is the JLC Reverso Tribute Duoface but unfortunately it's movement comes only in manual-wound and not self-winding or automatic. it seems JLC did have the self-winging movement at one time but has since discontinued. I wonder if JLC would reissue the reverso duoface in the automatic movement sometime soon.What a pity. It is available only in the pre-own market now. I came across one in the "World of Watches" in the USA a couple of months ago but it does not deliver to Australia, where I live. Personally, I prefer to buy it new from the boutique. Please advise.

Incredible watch! Personally saving up for a tribute moon. But which duoface I want seems to change every few weeks as they are all stunning.

Love the reverso, definitely the next one to add the my collection!

I really like everything about it - apart from the typeface used. "Night" and "Day" as well as "12" and "24" are set in... Arial. The watch is almost £12k, so I would expect them to consider the choice of font. Or, like car manufacturers, commission a bespoke one.

Great review. The JLC Reverso Duoface is my next addition. Like all things that are worth it, I will have to wait a bit. When I do get it, the watch will be that much more special.

My next luxury watch will undoubtedly be a JLC Reverso. Simply one of the coolest and most beautiful watches on the market. I love the Duoface but not sure if I need two timezones as I only travel for leisure, maybe every couple of years. I will probably get it for a wedding anniversary so I'm leaning towards getting our wedding date and the number of years married engraved.

Reverso is simply a legend. A century old watch that is timeless.

I own one and love it. Mine's a different reference and able to be dressed down a touch more.

Great Review Teddy! Objectively it is a beautiful piece and probably one of the best dress watches under 10k. Unfortunately, however, there are only limited occasions that I would wear it - and it’s a lot of money to drop on an occasionally worn piece.

Hi Teddy, I have a reverso duoface and I love it. There's one problem, and although I've emailed JLC about it, you're more likely to get traction someday than I am... It's the execution of the dual time zone function. When you have a GMT watch, let's say you start with your gmt hand and home time set the same. Then, before you travel, you pull out the crown one notch and you quick-set your travel time in the new time zone. Your GMT hand stays in your home time zone. Now, when you reach your destination, you know whether it's day or night at home with a quick glance at the GMT hand. You know whether it's day or night where you are... because you're there. Now, the JLC... You have your home time set on the main, small seconds face. You're ready to travel, and so you flick the clever little lever to jump the second side to the destination time zone. But it *also* jumps the 24 hour indicator on the travel face. So... when you get to your destination, you can look at the main face to see your home time... in 12 hour format with no day/night indicator!!! On the travel face, you've got a nice little 24 hour dial, but it's in your current time zone where you don't need it!!. Of course, you can work around this by doing it in two steps. Set your main face to the destination using the crown, then jump the travel side to your home time using the lever. Now the "travel" side actually shows your home time *and* whether it's day or night. You still have to flip to that face to *see* that time at home, but at least when you do you get a quick assessment of whether it's too late to call home using the 24-hour dial. The actually most useful execution would be... main face stays home time. 24 hour dial on travel side *always* displays home time as well (in 24 hour format). Jump lever *only* adjusts 12-hour display on travel side. Now the home side always shows your home time, and the travel side is like a GMT (showing 12-hour local time and 24-hour home time, on the same face, no flip required). I'm amazed this is *not* how they executed it. The only mechanical change would be to keep the 24 hour display connected to the main face, and disconnect it from the jump lever's function. Gosh such a frustrating wart on an amazing watch. Thanks for reading. :-)

I borrowed a Duo Face from a friend one day and wore it to a dinner where I was invited. I was in the bathroom and just had the urge to flip the sides. After I came back the woman of our host just got big eyes and asked me "Didn't you wear a white watch before?!". This was the point where the conversation about the watch started... it was fun =)

I really like the Reverso and hope to acquire it one day. I tried a few of them before and found that the length of the watch is a bit too much for my small wrist. I feel the Tank fits my wrist better.

Very few watches over a Reverso. This one is beautiful.
