@@d.barclay1564 Mainly because this car is in fantastic condition for one and the larger 1970's model would take the diesel engine a lot easier and the frame on the 1970's model could take the torque much better as well. Matt is welcome to do as he pleases, I mean it is his car. I just think that a 1963 ranchero is more and more difficult to find these days especially one as clean as he found.

My dad, your grandpa, built a burnout truck with a diesel engine and it was blowing black smoke and white smoke, just smoke everywhere, so that's part of the reason its 120 degrees outside in winter, and you have to wear a respirator cuz the air is toxic. But it was different times back then, if we only knew, oh yeah we know and just don't care about are grandkids. LOL Smoke that.

Seen this happen at a Houston show back in the day.

Hydraulic lines themselves would be an issue I imagine. The purpose built burnout cars down here in Australia don’t run any rear brakes, no lines, nothing because it’s too much of a fire risk. You are slinging hot rubber and metal belts around under your car. Heck some of the guys build reinforced rear tubs out of sheet steel and concrete!
