A Wonderfully Wacky Day in Wanaka | South Island, New Zealand Vlog 4/5

Күн бұрынWanaka is a wonderful and picturesque place. With snowcapped mountains and beautiful scenery, we absolutely loved waking up to the incredible views there.
We arrived very late the previous night to our Airbnb so we started things off in this vlog with a quick tour of our accommodation in Wanaka. Mary's Airbnb had the most incredible mountain and lakeside views! It was such a modern, stylish, clean and comfortable place that we called home for 3 nights. Definitely a fantastic place to stay if you're visiting Wanaka.

We needed some food in us so found a nutritious whole foods place called Dripping Bowl. They offer healthy and delicious items such as buddha and smoothie bowls on their menu along with cold press juices and smoothies. Great place if you're wanting something healthy and refreshing to kick start your day.

When searching for things to do in Wanaka, Puzzling World kept popping up as a weird and wacky, unique activity to check out. We had a great time in the illusion rooms and even attempted the great maze too. It really was a wonderful, world of weirdness!

Another "top things to do in Wanaka" recommendation that we kept coming across was the Wanaka Lavender Farm. Although we weren't really in the right season to see the lavenders in bloom (you need to visit in summer for that), it was still a lovely place to visit and spend our afternoon wandering through the farm. They have an awesome gift shop with lavender products handmade right there at their Wanaka Lavender Farm too.

We ended our day by visiting that Wanaka tree again. Definitely a must do when in Wanaka to see the iconic and famous tree. Stay tuned next week for our final vlog from the South Island!

Yea hosts are so lovely here in NZ! Almost all of them have left us the heater on before our arrival just so we have a cosy place to arrive at 🥰🥰 illusion places are awesome ay.. so trippy that room especially.. we got kinda dizzy though coz it really messes with your sense of spacial awareness 😅😅 honestly felt like the room was moving coz we were so disoriented lol 😅 fun experience though!

I visited my brother in Wanaka in 2009 (he has lived in NZ for around 9 months). We visited lots of places, but Wanaka has something special, something relaxed... If I could, I would move there tomorow and never come back!

Haha love it! One way or another you guys were gonna get close to those dang alpacas! I feel like the journey is complete now! I’m with you Peter.. 25% is a good day😁 Wasn’t expecting to see kimchi in that bowl. Reminded me of childhood...I put kimchi in/on everything - sandwiches, pizza, chili rice... beautiful video and thanks for going back to Lake Wanaka at sunset.. was a beautiful shot. Hope to take my wife there in the not too distant future...she would love the lavender 🍨😋 Stay safe guys!

Hahaha in New Zealand exam scores get scaled so usually if I'm lucky my 25% gets scaled to 50% 😂😂 but need enough other ppl to get worse than me. Aaa good times growing up. Kimchi is definitely one of those things that make things taste better as a kid I was similar but I'd put salty picked veges on everything. Hope you and your wife do get to come in NZ soon stop off in Auckland too yeah? 😁

That's a view you want to wake up to. Love the modern and clean look of this Airbnb. We also look for that. The coconut bowl!!! Love love that. Nice touch of kimchi on that bowl too. Those illusion museums are so much fun. But yes, this one is more interactive. Very cool. Would like to try lavender sugar. EVERYBODY likes nice smelling things, Peter. Hahaha

Love the farm, more reasons to come back when it is the lavender season! Kinda knew it was lavender farm on IG, your *ahem* lavender door gave it away! 😆 Alpacas or Llamas, I too am always confused haha!! Sooo soooooooooo cuteeee and they're all different colours!! SHO CUTE!!!! OMG HAIRY COWS!!!! Soooo cuuuteee!!! (sorry for the spams lol!!!) Love the gifts too, especially coz it's lavender!

Haha lavenders always remind me of that time you guys, us and @nickandhelmi all went to lavender farms around the same-ish time 😁💜🌿 The animals are real cute huh! We came across more of them in the Gibbs Farm place we were mentioning the other day.. like tons of them just roaming about freely!! The hairy cows are the cutest 😁 I spent ages in that gift shop looking at everything hahaha 💜🌿😁

Smoothie bowl during summertime is the best! Our favourite is the acai bowl with granola, peanut butter and fresh fruits, so yum. Good decision to stop over at Puzzling World. I love this kind of attraction, it's my jam. The tilted house makes us spinning hey? haha I have been to similar one before. Oh Lavender farm, always enjoy visiting a lavender farm. I would most likely buying lavender tea and essential oil, as I always use it at home to help me relaxed and get better sleep 😊

Smoothie bowls are awesome and they had great ones at Dripping Bowl 🙂👍 Ooo where was the ones you visited with the tilting room? It was the first time we experienced it and got quite dizzy from being so disoriented lolol 😅 it was a lot of fun with all the illusions too though! Lavender products are awesome! They had everything there 💜😍🌿 plus they handmake all their lavender products there 👍💜💜

I like Wanaka very much, and next time I will definitely go to the Lavender farm, thank you very much for the lavender pillow, its smell great. It was beautiful to see you sitting on beside of the lake against a colorful sunset and a tree in the middle of the quiet lake, very nice 💞💞

Love how bright it is, and what a nice bathroom!! Love you're checking out a healthier option place today. Those are some seriously different looking meals.. but we would love that!! $25 isn't a bad price for these attractions. The tilted house would jack us up! Depends what you wanna do there I guess but in summer the lavenders should be out if you plan on visiting the lavender farm and it'll be nice for kayaking etc. Dec-jan is school holidays period though so probably a lot more kids and families about. Wanaka is a good base for visiting ski fields so if that's what you're into then winter would be better to visit.
