If China strikes first then I'd agree the likelihood of Kim moving in is high, but if it's Kim who fires the first shot, I suspect Beijing would rather have the US ensure there's a buffer zone remaining between them and SK afterwards but otherwise leave him to himself; the cost of a potential US blockade just because their pet decided to bit rather than bark is too high, and it's not as if the theaters would be too far apart.
