FAQ:
What is that machine?
Its a mini forwarder called Oxen, made by Myresjö Maskin in Sweden. I don’t have any contacts to the manufacturer as I got mine used. I’m sorry.
What is that excavator?
Its called Digger and is also Swedish made. It was built to dig on its own, but the previous owner mounted it to the Oxen.
What is that dog?
Her name is Cake and she’s an amstaff-mix.
What are you doing?
I am slowly making this place livable. Permanently livable.
Baby steps.

For every boy who built a “fort” in the woods, you went and did the grown up version without compromising on what it could be. Visually, symmetrical, without being exact. Lots of irregular triangles and whimsically placed geometry, without worrying at all how it will tie in to the finished piece. It almost has a medieval look to it, like a witch’s cottage. For one guy, this is an incredible undertaking. Bold, ambitious, clever, yet practical, unimposing and sufficient. Your artistic vision & craftsman’s touch are commendable. Thank you for not losing that spark we all once had.

Ladies and germs. Since this video is without commentary feel free to ask any questions here. This is not the end to this channel. With a rather functional little cabin this is where the fun starts and I intend to post many more videos of my projects. If you enjoyed this, please like the video. A like does not mean you agree with everything. It's just a little "thank you" to this internet busker for entertaining you for half an hour. It does alot for the future of the channel. Thank you! Not sure what else you have planned, but maybe a fire pit with a lounge chair or maybe a sauna? Or maybe a good strong sturdy bridge for that creek? I would like to see you make some cool furniture out of the lumber you've milled. I'm a carpenter by trade, so watching videos of what other people are making with wood is fun for me.
@DanielatLazyCreek

@@LeroyJGibbs Those are all good suggestions. I felt like doing some digging and working with masonry so I have started with a dug well. And I am simultaneously building a firewood shed with a weird lumbering technique. If everything goes well I could do some finer stuff this fall.

Dudes that commented below to Rawbeautykristi, this is subtle example of sexism that pervades our society. I don't know her channel, but it looks like it's a makeup channel. So the girl can't love cabins AND makeup? No it can only be because she likes the dude. Stop trying to put us in boxes. Btw I fucking love this video and I shared with all my girlfriends. Some of whom like men with beards and axes, some of whom love building shit and forests. @The cabin at Lazy Creek this video is inspirational, I once drunk bought a book on building cabins and I have so many questions! I hope there are / will be other videos (Like, how did you get permission to build, how did you learn to build cabins, can one learn from youTube?! :D, is this your first cabin or have you made others, what was your process to decide to do this project, how did you do the filming - did you have a drone). And my heart lit up when I saw you even hooked up a solar panel setup! Didn't show the toilet though! haha.

This was a really uniquely built cabin, never seen anything like it before. Well done! I've thoroughly enjoyed the build from start to finish. That stain choice fits in great with the natural surroundings too! Hope you continue the channel with more videos, they are very well made also.

Thank you Kyle. I will continue with, hopefully, more regular updates on smaller projects. Digging a well building a firewood shed and so on.
