Another great vlog. I'm six months in myself, also up to 100mg which seems to be working well, along with other healthy living choices. I feel so much better today than in the months before Xmas. Your vlog helped me on my journey and to understand that using medication was something positive and part of the process of getting on a.more even keel. Also I've learned from your vlogs is that there's nothing to be frightened or feel ashamed about adjusting dosages if what you are taking isn't as effective as it could be. I'm glad 100mg is working for you, as it is for me right now. But thanks to your example, I'd have no qualms about going back to my GP if I needed to. Thank you.😊

That is really kind of you to say , thank you. 100 mg seems to be the sweet spot for me at the moment but I’m open to that changing in the future - we will see! Really pleased you’re finding value from the vlogs - so many people are affected by mental illness but it’s still not talked about enough.

I’d always recommend speaking to your doctor/GP as everyone is different but that’s what I take it for. Hope you are ok!

Hi Sophie, I have been watching your videos for a while, I really enjoy them and appreciate your honesty about your experience of anxiety. I have been taking Sertraline 50mg for nearly 5 years in total after I developed severe anxiety triggered by a bereavement ( although I think I have always had anxiety to a lesser degree) I came off for 6 months during that time and was fine at first but then gradually realised that I had to go back on them as the symptoms started again. Like you, I find they work really well. I do have spikes every so often and at those times I do wonder if I should increase my dose but then if I keep up with my self care it seems so go and I feel fine again in time. Period time is usually the worst so I think it could be hormonal. Do you find your anxiety is worse then? I also have had weekly one to one therapy for 5 years and I find it so helpful and actually life changing I would say. I also like to exercise, read, do yoga and I sing in a community choir which I find hugely beneficial for mental health. I wanted to ask if you have tried Yoga Nidra? (Yogic sleep)I have found this to be amazing for anxiety. You get into a state between sleep and wakefulness and practiced regularly it can actually rewire your brain. Basically it moves the body from the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) to the parasympathetic dominance so the rest and digest state. If you fancy trying it I would recommend Ally Boothroyd on KZfaq. She is amazing and there are loads of Nidras in her library and they are for different lengths of time. Best to be practised with headphones! I like a weighted eye mask too. Hope you have a lovely day in the sunshine x

Thank you so much for this - I haven’t tried Yoga Nidra before (in fact I’d never heard of it until you mentioned it). It sounds right up my street though so I’ll give it a go! I’ve had to work quite hard not to be in fight or flight so much. Hypnotherapy was another thing that helped me with that. I be heard that can require your grain/certain thought loops too and it has been good for me. Thank you for subscribing! X

@@sophieradford You’re very welcome, I hope you find it beneficial. I have found practicing daily gets the best results over time. Hypnotherapy sounds interesting and I may give that a go at some point! Yes I’ve had to work hard at that too, I find if I am having a good period and neglect my self care, a spike usually follows, so I try to be disciplined with it now. These videos are so important because I think it can be quite a lonely experience in the midst of anxiety, despite support from loved ones and friends. I’m sure they really help a lot of people! I will look forward to your next update x

Hi Rachel! I love the Ally Boothroyd yoga nidras. Also try Andrew Huberman’s 10 min NSDR, which is similar.
