The reason I like Carenado is because of their texture materialization. They have a nice reflection map and pretty window scratch effects. The lighting is also accurate to shadowing knobs and switches.

The amount of work and effort put into this is outstanding, absolutely amazing!

This is a big deal for primary flight training. Replicating the pre-flight experience to that level, and more importantly, the fidelity of the electrical system and engine is HUGE. Forcing you to consider leaning on the ground, keep 1000rpm, watch the rpm creep as it warms....these all take it to a much more meaningful level for primary training. Bravo.

This is a plane for true die hard plane lovers and future pilots. Its not just for some simmer who wants to get in a C172 and do loops in it. Real pilots start by flying these small planes, yes even that old salty 747 Captain started by flying these little planes. Learning proper procedures from the beginning (including flight simulation) is a must, because you are a lot more likely to get yourself killed flying a small Cessna than a big jet. Awesome product.

I am looking forward to this. I have a private license for the 150, 152 and 172 and have been looking for a definitive Cessna 172 for many years for FSX. There's good ones out there, but your Accu-Sim series is the best.

I have been flying a 172R, just 30 minutes ago, you really nailed the model and sounds, my god that's impressive

Prime means pumping fuel into the system and Carburetor using a small hand pump on the panel since this aircraft doesn't come with a Fuel boost switch for startup. So you pump the primer, just like the B17 :) Hope that helps.

As i've just bought Accufeel V2, will there be any conflict with the Accusim options or will Accufeel being bypassed by the C172's Accusim ?

Hahah, yup. Probably the day after I pass my check ride, I'll get checked out on my schools 172. Training is a TAD cheaper on the 152, hence I've been flying that, but I'll need the extra room so I can take a couple friends up at a time! Fly safe out there, man!

I know it’s 10 years later. But this is my favorite plane to fly GA wise, I guess because it’s simple and I see a lot at my local airport, but I would LOVE to see this come to MSFS. This and a functional non instant GPU to plug it in like we can with the heater.

SOLD! I just wish it was a Skyhawk SP w/ a 180hp engine (just like the one I fly) but at least you can put a different prop on it that's rated at 2700 rpm so power settings are probaby simular.

Holy cow! I run a virtual flight school inside of FSX, and we will 100% add this into our training fleet!! My only question is if this aircraft will be sharable in FSX multilayer and still retain the realism.

I am as well, and am about to take my check ride in a 152. Honestly though, a 172 is barely different than a 152, especially in a sim. For all practical purposes, this will work as a 152 trainer, with just a few V speeds differing.

You can turn damage off for the times you want just a quick flight Jason. Yes on the paint kit and already hundreds of community repaints. See the A2A forums for details.

They already do this, on the B17 at least. All of the sounds become muffled, and there are some things you can't hear. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same on the 172

All sounds are authentic... but in real life I fly with a big David Clark headset with active noise reduction! I hear the engine noise very reduced, let alone a single switch :) But overall this plane has some nice details.

Yeah, when you get your PPL you'll fly the 172 most of the time. What the fun of having a licence and not scaring your friends. There both the same really just a little heaver and two extra seats.

Have you seen the A2A Spitfire? Also the Real Air Simulations Lancair Legacy is first class. Carenado make very nice planes, but Accusim has spoiled me now, and I just can't fly non accsim anymore.

Carenado doesn't aim to be Ultra-Realistic like A2A though. They are more of a style-over-function company who regularly put out aircraft that other companies fail to do. So I wouldn't really say A2A put Carenado to shame...

I have a bit of a problem, need someone to help... didn't realize how real this plane was. I started the engine and proceeded to head to the runway when the engine made some noises and then sudden stop! I haven't been able to get the engine to turn over after that. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing works. Anyone have ideas to fix this?
