When your aircraft doesn't rotate(start climbing) at the rotate speed, then there's a pretty good chance you are a bit too heavy alluding to a little oversight in takeoff calculations. Good quick correctional input by pilots however to reduce the angle of attack momentarily to build up speed and then climb out 👍🏻

0.45 "The early rotation might be a result of an erroneous takeoff calculation performed by the flight crew" As a more likely explanation, instead of a calculation error, I would think that Iberia encountered vortices that have been left on the runway crossing at that point from a large aircraft that used it a moment before. But the runways at London Heathrow are all in the same direction, so there is no cross traffic effect. However, it is possible that the Iberia took off too soon after the plane ahead of them, causing its eddies to lift the Iberia into the air. This is quite a dangerous possibility.
@timshepherd7404
@timshepherd7404 10 ай бұрын
I was considering the same thing, similar to that RAM B737 from a few years ago. I'm only a short-way into my ATPLs but I see that as a real possibility, especially given the high traffic density at LHR. Tho could quite easily be an early rotation too.
@kevindigo22
@kevindigo22 10 ай бұрын
Yes, I too am skeptical of the erroneous takeoff calculation theory, they would have had to make a big error in one of the calc inputs since we are only talking maybe one second difference in reaching Vr. More likely the PF had too much coffee before takeoff, was a little over anxious and twitchy, and jumped the gun on the side stick. My rule is count to two after Vr and then ease back on the yoke/stick (when there is plenty of runway). Pulling back too quick doesn't get you to your destination any sooner haha. But I only fly on FSX, so what do I know hahaha.
