A drag race is an acceleration contest, on a track, or dragstrip, that begins from a standing start between two vehicles over a measured distance. Drag races are a series of such two-vehicle, tournament-style eliminations. They drift, burnout, speed, in nhra or ihra, with a lot of horsepower. #racing #dragracing #gassers

I'm getting real old! Brings back memories of the 60's & 70's. Saw both of the original K.S. Pitman cars@ Sanford, ME & N.E. Dragway! Conn. Dragway also had a few good gaser shows!

If you viewers ever get a chance, hop on down to the 1/8 mile when they're the next class. It's awfully neat seeing them fly through the traps and if you are skilled at panning, can make some really sweet pictures.

Is this an 1/8 mile strip? We have them in Florida as well as 1/4 mile. Great video, brings back memories from the 60's. Beautiful.

This is a 1/4 mile track. The Classical AA/GS group only runs 1/8 mile at these events.
