If you look at this logically it doesn't seem out of place. There was rust under the mud and the wood was rotten and cracking and the mud had seeped in, both of those clues show it had been sitting for awhile. The modern screws even add up. Think of it this way, I have 2 hammers one that's 34 years old I bought just out of high school the other my grandfather's which is about 100ish years old. Both hammers have screws in the top that I placed in the last ten years attempting to get more life from the handles. We all do it why is this different?

bad restoration! so you remove the makers mark and erase the history of this hammer make it all shiney to make it look new then you fake distress the handle to make it look fake old absolute garbage.

Я бы не доверил этому мастеру реставрировать свои вещи. Сменил рукоятку и зашлифовал ТОЛЬКО наружную часть. Внутри реставрировать не нужно? И место гвоздодёра также оставить можно повреждённым . 👎🏿👎🏽👎

It's a handle and a head, the head is pretty indestructible, works whether it is rusty or not and if the handle is buggered replace it, all the effort is pointless!!! Ffs

Как долго вы приводилилимолоток в первоначальное состояние? Закручивание саморезы (винты), рукоять подбирали с проволокой и в все это в какашку обмазали и сушили? Не работа, а понты для приезжих.
