Мамкин рестовратор... Если ты пишешь, что это реставрация , оправдывай слово полностью. А ручку маслом натирал, что бы выскальзывала лучше..? Сколько лет работаю с металом, сколько всего переделал, ни разу не видел такого...

Enjoyed the refurb and video. I feel the handle does not do the hammerhead justice. Also, would the hammerhead need hardening again?

Привет камрады. Меня это тоже прикололо. Я не МАСТЕР !!! Так ковыряюсь мало-мало ))) Ещё бы он зубочисткой ржавчину отковыривал ))) Не в первый обращаю внимание, ржавчину серьезную ковыряют чуть ли не зубной щеткой. Когда тут нужна простая металлическая щётка.

You're right, a great bicentennial hammer. A piece of a two-hundred-year-old pipe is welded into it by an excellent two-hundred-year-old electric welding. I appreciate a good joke too.

I would have removed the rust and sealed the metal, nothing more. A piece of history has been lost forever. Just my opinion of course.

I know what you mean it’s not so much a restoration as re-using the material for a new concept. The restoration title must be better for views etc…

I might have reforged the whole thing and put a steel butt plate on the handle, but the resulting mottled finish looks sort of awesome.

200 years old .... Not. The head was welded on a round bit of tube as a handle. At 6:57 you can see the remains of the welding that have been ground off. I don't think welding in this form was around 200 years ago.

Files don't cut on the backstroke, you only mar the teeth when you do that on something as hard as tool steel.

I’d lose patience trying to get all that big rust off with ball peeing hammers and screwdrivers. I’d have to get an air powered needle point tool

Губы раскатали: ...200летний молот!? А вместо деревянной рукояти, труба была приварена к кувалде. А, что ручная ковка,- про то не возражаю. От силы, лет 30-50 такой болванке.
