I had the very high honor of briefly meeting Maestro Emerson back in 1988. I asked, and received, his autograph, which is my most prized possession. He is sorely missed by millions. RIP Maestro Emerson !

Yes Aaron… Carl Palmer’s new tour does justice to your Dad & Greg’s legacy. It’s a wonderful tribute. I was there opening night in Philadelphia and all fan comments are positive.

Interesting discussion, Aaron. I saw your father play live with ELP about 70 times. I never missed an ELP tour. I did shake hands with him and Carl at a show in the 90's. My kids grew up listening to ELP and Yes so I passed it down best I could. The music created by the people in these amazing bands has made my life better. Wish you the best.

No greater composer or keyboardist as Keith. The goat!

Was fortunate to meet Aaron at the LA Keith Emerson Tribute Concert in 2016, great guy, and fantastic show. I am sure he knows Rachel Flowers, as she played there. I have seen her play several times, and she is magical, whether covering ELP, others, or doing her own solo work. Also got to see Jordan Rudess cover Tarkus with Marc Bonilla's Keith Emerson Tribute Band recently at Synthplex. After seeing ELP live in the 70's, who knew so much live ELP would be happening in 2022? I guess me, and all the other fans who never stopped listening. What a joy!

Wonderful to hear Aaron Emerson and his memories, thank you! I fondly remember my meeting with Keith and Greg and our conversations. Keith Emerson greatly inspired my life, and his music will be a part of me as long as I live.

I love Carl Palmers comment about thier " Love Beach Album look." He said something like " we look like the F_cking Bee Gees". Great band, all top notch musicians and people.

Can't wait for the book; thx 4 bringing it to my attention !! I lost "Pictures of an Exhibitionist" thru divorce....damn me. Expensive proposition to replace that puppy, all right. Used copies bring a small ransom.... Fair enough- a brand new book on Keith will be a delight, to be sure. Lord, do I miss both Keith & Greg. I once pulled off my hockey jersey during an ELP encore in Philly & swung it around above my head in rapture. Greg saw me doing this, pointed at me from stage & laughed.... Cheers !! 🚬😎

Such a fantastic interview, can't wait for the book to arrive. It's amazing at how much Aaron sounds like his father, the same tenor voice, though with a slightly different regional accent. Thank you so much for this interview!

Lovely interview! Keith Emerson is my absolute favorite composer. I’m so glad Aaron gives us his perspective and put together the book. I’m goggling Ethan and hope to find his music too. Although I’m a doors fan, ELP was light years ahead as far as musicianship and composing. Each legends though. Ty Aaron!

Lovely to see Aaron again after all these years! Fond memories of me and my brother at your house (I was the one who could drive, had a car, my brother Jim was in your band) at Gunn Hill, knowing your wonderful mum, in particular the cherry pies with all the stones still in... A memory I'll never forget!! Really gutted to hear the passing of your dad. But what an amazing life! RIP Keith.

A very interesting interview. This is the first time I've seen Aaron on video. I saw Keith with ELP in '72 and again with the re-formed Nice around 2002. Both evenings were enjoyable in their own ways. He was a brilliant writer and player.

Tnat's a great interview with Aaron. I wish I could be able to tell him how much I admire his father simce my teens, the more I listen to him the more I love him. Keith was the greatest not only aa a keyboard player but as a musician as a whole. And his grandson, Ethan, is amazing. The kid is honoring his grandfather's legacy remarkably!!! Hey, Aaron, we agree on our favourite Keith's songs!! :) Btw, when asked about that tour Carl Palmer is doing, with the screens and so, I have a sense that Aaron is just being smart and polite and not so enthusiastic. Another thing is that while Palmer said he tried holograms and he discarded them because it was not the real thing, Aaron says he didn't go for the holograms because they were too expensive. Well, just my thoughts...

Wonderful to hear from Aaron Emerson. I do wonder if he knows Rachel Flowers. Keith was very appreciative, friendly and fond of her. She does a great job keeping Keith's music out there. Good that Aaron knows Rick. Back in the day, I was not aware that Keith and Rick were good mates. Good to know that they were. Aaron does remind me of his dad. Great interview Barry. Thanks so much!

I am not surprised his father was listening to Oscar, Brubeck and classical all the time because you hear it in his playing and orchestration styles. It was lovely to see his son getting on so well. Somehow in the back of my mind I suspect he was not so keen on the Carl Palmer tour with video of his dad, just an impression I got. It may have made him somewhat uncomfortable.
