Back when plate racing where the main races everyone had to watch, a full on gamble, now it's just the high speed version of what we do on the road everyday. No more big moves, no more bumpdrafting, slam drafting, sling shot passes, hell even the 2 car tandems were wayyy better than the crap we have now. I'm all for safer races but it's like they put the races on Very Easy instead of Legends mode like it used to be.

You can tell the drivers learned their lesson in 06. In 06, they all stayed in line until the last lap and couldn’t catch JR, Johnson, and Vickers. They all made moves earlier in this race and gave themselves as solid chance

I know. I wish that they came up with this car in 2001 because you look at McDowells crash in this new car and you know its not exactly indestructible, but the car did hold up extremely well and he came out alive and kicking. I love how the COT is very safe, and honestly I would prefer safety over sub-par races. I am sick of people complaining about it too, because now its just getting annoying. The car may not drive well, but this is where you see who can really drive a car and who can't

If it weren't for that caution it would have been a great finish. Restrictor plate races are a lot more exciting when they are green for the last 15-20 laps or so. A caution with 20 to go bunches the pack back up, they pit, then race green to the finish. It's a lot more exciting than green, then caution, then green, then caution, then green white checkered, then caution and wreck to end the race. It ruins the finish. I hate restrictor plate races ending like that.
@weepjng4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I reckon Jr would’ve won without a caution but I’m still happy the 24 won.
@KKFan916 жыл бұрын
I can't even budge the fact how these drivers can stay 3 wide like the last 5 laps like that. I can't even do that for 10 seconds online playing NASCAR 08! Awesome drivers that NASCAR has, and those who say NASCAR is boring? Lets see your motorsport have 29 competitors running 3 wide like that all within one single second of eachother. Nuff said.

@theMstanglover13 жыл бұрын
@k0ehl3r I agree with you on the last part no doubt, and I don't mind the draft because it still develops exciting finishes, but it still needs work, and I don't like the fact that the pusher has to give up the win to let the guy in front of him to the win. I think maybe give them both the win because the offense in football doesn't get the just get the win. The defense does as well. I guess that would be weird if both drivers would win, but it would be more fair.

@PGOLDEN88 I doubt that will help as much as it did like last year. The grill-openings on the car this year on the restrictor-plate tracks will be exactly on the front bumper, So the pushing-car will have to back off completely to cool his car...so I've heard. :)

Plate racing really went down hill the last few years. It used to be that drivers like Dale Jr and Sr. could work it so when they pulled out at an educated moment, people would follow. Your fate was more controllable. Now, along with people like Kyle Busch, nobody works with others and people like Dale Jr and tony Stewart aren't able to use their knowledge and win. Everyone just fans out.
