This is the story of a badly injured baby elephant, who struggled, persisted and put up a brave fight, but the struggle was not his alone; his mother, too, struggled in equal measure and pushed just as hard and through just as much pain as the baby. Her pain, unfortunately, outlasted her baby's.

Human intervention should have been done to help this baby elephant's wound. Instead they watched and made a film. Just terrible and heart breaking when this little baby could have been helped and lived.

It's pretty painful to watch this baby elephant struggling to walk...but at the same time seeing the love and care from mother elephant for her baby is heart warming... Well what happened to baby...how are they taking care of his wound...? Please tell

It was really sad and painful however the courage of the baby is worth celebrating. Unfortunately, the baby could not survive but it had put up a great fight.

May the brave soul of his rest in peace.... and God help mother elephant to overcome the agony of loosing his child..... I'm sure she would be in critical pain right now....they feel every emotion as much as we do as a human... motherhood never changes no matter if it's a human or any other life form...

Elephant mothers are the most caring and compassionate animal mothers. It is so sad that the baby elephant could not have eventually been helped by humans. Even though humans should not as a rule interfere with wild animals, it seems that this is a case were humans should have helped. Perhaps the human help would have saved another baby elephant.

In Sri Lanka our veterinarys are giving their fullest attention to the calf and other elephants. Their service is excellent. ❤❤👍.

Something could have been - SHOULD have been done to help this little baby elephant. Some veterinary assistance from the national park to medicate the wound could have gone a long way! This is really sad. Some might argue that it’s not our place to get involved & that this is the general course of nature. However, human beings have done so much damage to wildlife on the planet by now that at this point, we should take a more active stance to help when able to. Look at what the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust does in Kenya for instance - they intervene when an animal is in need. A similar thing could have been done here instead of just filming their plight.

Hey everyone, this is NOT a zoo! This is nature and it's always been a fact that lots of baby elephants die in their first year. That's the way it's supposed to be. This baby has long since died--it was probably left behind and the lions or hyenas made it their lunch!

Its really painful to see this but you have to understand that park rangers should have minimum involvement with the life cycle or ecosystem of the park. That is how the world runs ...the baby definitely got a very painful death but a lot of lives will thrive in the jungle because of his remains...please dont blame the forest rangers...they mostly do their job...one of which is also not to disturb the natures balance...RIP

That comment is absolute ly incorrect. It is our responsibility to make sure we contact the depts and alert them of an animal that needs help. We should never just do nothing and only film it. That is very wrong. As photographers and doco makers have a duty to contact the Depts of the parks and reserves who will simply arrange a team to be sent.

Not just because the calf is cute or poor, but elephants are endangered, human should intervene and save more of them. Even if it's just one. Have no idea why human can film a baby elephant dying and not help him.

This baby died they watch the suffering. They did not act responsibly by not getting help they just filmed. Disgraceful act of cruelty. It is our responsibility to contact veterinarian and authorities to help injured wildlife when we see it, especially tiny babies

이 영상을 찍으신 분은 뭐하시는 분인가요??? 영상을 보며 마음이 너무아파서 눈물을 흘렸습니다. 결국 아기 코끼리는 죽었네요. 영상을 찍을려고만 생각하고, 야생동물 관리국에 신고하실 생각은 없었습니까?? 국립공원으로 관광을 가시는 많은 분들이 다친 코끼리와 고아 코끼리를 봤을때 관리국으로 구조요청으로 신고를 많이들 합니다.멸종위기 동물이라서 국립공원 레인저들도 코끼리는 무조건 달려옵니다. 그런데, 아픈 다리를 끌고 이동하는 아기코끼리를 보고 유튜브에 올릴 영상만 찍고 싶으셨나요?! 저는 이런 영상을 올린신 분들을 싫어 합니다. 모두가 멸종위기동물 코끼리를 살릴려고 애씁니다. 출산율 보다 사망율이 더 높아서 아마 이런 흐름은 후대에는 코끼리를 볼수 없을지도 모른다 고합니다. 정말 안타깝습니다

Veterinarians from forest dept could have been called to assist this baby. But instead they just filmed the suffering and it died. Very irresponsible and cruel.

@@vijaymishra1243 I knew and could clearly see, and hear that he's in pain, but I didn't know the baby elephant died. That's very sad, especially if it's so painful that he's making those sounds of pain, I mean I saw that, but he kept getting worse and died painfully? The poor little phant. And seeing the mother struggle to help and comfort him, but to little success. And hearing those sounds the adult phants were making, they must've been sounds of sympathy pain. Seriously, I've read that elephants have more compassion than even kind hearted humans have, and can see signs of that in videos like these. It is heartbreaking what the little one went through knowing now he died painfully, the poor little creature.

Is it any wonder the wild elephants ate in decline. With people who just film and do nothing to help is a sin against nature. We are supposed to care for animals. Not just leave them to suffer. The bnisguided belief to let them fend for themselves is a very wicked and cruel thing to do. You never just leave the animals to fend for themselves. It is not naturàl. It is very cruel. This is cruelty to the elephants. You could have helped the elephant and the injured calf. You just filmed it as it died when you should have called for veterinarian to treat. You killed this baby and allowed the tragedy for the mother to suffer. You should be ashamed of yourself and hang your cruel head down low. This is just a cruelty film. It is your duty to help any animal you see when you are filming. Thisvis evidence of the cruelty of people in India and in film. This is a disgusting film about how pathetic the film maker is. Very wrong and cruel.

Such a distressing sight! You can feel the love the mother has for her calf! Hope it was healed... Elephants are empathetic and can feel sadness and pain. インドのゾウの扱いは最低すぎる。神聖な生き物の位置づけであるのに、特に使役ゾウの扱いは生き物ではなくまるでモノ扱い。よくもそんな事ができると思う。このビデオも撮るまでのゾウを助ける事ができたでしょう。
