Now Demolished- This home is a curious one because it is right next door to an already abandoned one I have explored recently. They both have structural damage which is significant and may be the reason they are abandoned. This home I noticed as I was leaving the adjacent one so I decided to venture back and take a closer look and indeed it has been left vacant for some time only this one has many belongings left behind as if the owner may have passed away or moved out in a hurry. I documented this place before it gets demolished along with its abandoned neighbour.

I would love to have those gorgeous tiles in the first bathroom. Those combined strategically with the white ones would make a beautiful kitchen backsplash or broken pieces used to make a gorgeous tile and grout table top or flower vases. Those tiles bought new today would be $15-$20 each. I hope somebody salvages those before they demolish that house!

Hey Reese great eye for details you have! :-) Yes and that is exactly what will happen. I have been keeping watching of how the salvage teams in the abandoned block are going about their job and these are the things they go in and rip up and save. they pick they place apart then the demo teams come in and knock down the rest. :-)

My thoughts are that a family member was moved in with the knowledge that the house was going to get demolished as it appears that boxes weren't unpacked and the occupant was living very simply and lonely too it seems. Obviously the possessions aren't significant. I felt sad when watching this. The occupant obviously had a zest for learning through books. I appreciate you responding to most of the comments too. It's good to know that the interest in abandoned buildings is something that can be discussed.

Hey that is a very good yet different take on this house and the occupant. Very could be this indeed. There is no doubt this home and the one next door will be demolished. I guess the mystery is will the belongings of this man be salvaged by family or the demolition crew. :-) I like reading and replying to the comments because I learn stuff and the keen eye of you guys is better than mine in a lot of the cases. haha :-) Thanks for watching again Nessa!

Nice slow hand with the camera, no motion sickness 🤗. The house didn't feel haunted, but anxious . . . I had a knot in my stomach because I felt the resident might return any second, and the house gives off a similar vibe, as if it's waiting for his imminent return. He had to have died suddenly, because he wouldn't have left those ashes and his religious texts behind. The place had the look of a childless, introverted hermit (I know something about those 😬). I doubt if he ever had visitors. Anyhow, great explore 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏽👍🏽

Great assessment Kathy! You and Ana know your stuff! The ashes are still making me cringe a bit because I would hate have dropped them or something stupid by accident. The man seemed to be quite happy in his home doing his own thing quietly until he passed away. RIP.

I am Hindu The religious book is placed on little height stool whose upper surface wrapped in Red cloth Hindus keep their holy book in red cloth or placed on red cloth These religious book is being read daily (few pages)in Morning after taking Bath or before going to sleep It is read while seating on floor bending both legs by knee Way book is kept it seems that somebody is coming daily or once or twice a week and following ritual Further Book is Dashbodh means the lesson given by god

Someone was living there. A homeless person with no privacy. They probably locked both doors and used the window themselves to attempt to deter this type of thing from happening. Don't get me wrong, I'm addicted to explores but I strongly feel that this one was a mistake.

Lynette I`m hearing you and if you read through more of the comments you will see that I tend to agree. This one was deceptive and yes maybe a homeless person comes and goes. I have no intentions disrupting squatters or the homeless. My intentions are only to observe and admire the decay of homes through time and why they may have been left. Thanks for watching, you are obviously passionate and intelligent for this genre. Cheers from Australia.

MK5 astute observation. My impression is that he was an older single man, who traveled when he could. Greece, Spain, the East. Bought quality when he could. Did you notice that there wasn't a television? A CD player in the kitchen, some CDs. No basement? He probably packed his worldly goods up before going off to Hospice. No Telephone, no computer. I believe he's gone - long gone. Nothing to hold him here any longer..... Unless HE's in that urn.

I have been in "abandoned" houses, for example my sister in law's father died, they did not get notified, until 3 months later, so when they went to his place other family had taken valuable items, but still there were some left, even I took some for the garage sale, still so much left, we couldn't take everything, and still the place is still abandoned, because of legal issues, so many relatives involved and not resolved, if I want to, i could go live there, it is very nicely located in the city, close to everything, they are not able to rent it, due to so many of them involved and not agreeing with the sale of the property-or lease.

So glad you have explained how this situation can unfold because it actually explains a lot of these houses I visit. They are clearly vacant and have been for a long time but there are belongings still there as if no one moved out. Such an intersting but easily overlooked reason for this outcome. Thanks agian Luz Maria Rahla :-)

Some cases takes months and years to get the legal issues taken care off, some give it up, therefore the houses end up abandoned, in this case I mentioned, 7 siblings are involved and the wife's sisters or something like that, so it is a mess-

I'm curious to understand why there was SO much structural damage to the building. Are there earthquakes in Australia? A house can settle a lot over time, but there was just a lot of huge cracks and generally a house in that bad shape might be condemned because it is very unsafe. Any idea on why there was so much damage? Very interesting video. And my first one from your channel. Thank you so much-- I have never seen anyone urbexing in Australia before. I LOVE to see all of the products and boxes they came in---the product names are nothing like those from here in America. I'm going to subscribe and watch more of your videos.
@urbexindigo5164
@urbexindigo5164 6 жыл бұрын
Hey Molly! :-) firstly thanks again for your comments and watching! In Australia we do not have many large earthquakes to account for this sort of damage so it it definitely a combination of old homes on settling soil next to storm water run offs. These condemned homes seem to share that in common. There is also an urban renewal scheme in place that targets homes built before 1960 with significant structural damage and they will be demolish for newer projects. So you can bet these type of homes have been condemned for safety reasons and are not allowed to be rented out anymore. They will be on a demo list.

Did you see recently the story of a developer who moved into a vacant and apparently abandoned house maybe 25 years ago. He restored it and improved the property over that time,payed the council rates and rented it out. Legally he owns it now because of the Squatters Act and he is looking at making 1.6 million dollars from its sale ( it is in a very desirable location in Sydney or Melbourne),pure profit because the rentals would have covered all his renovation and improvement costs over that time. Something to think about with all these apparently abandoned properties.

It would always be so interesting to know the stories behind abandoned places! Why did someone pack the stuff up and then stop when almost done? Was it the person last living there who did it or someone else? Was there probably more stuff that was actually moved and what we see is only the rest that was left behind? One other possibility I can come up with is that the person had to move to a nursing home, started packing things up and then found that he or she could not take nearly as much stuff with them. Some nursing homes allow people to bring own furniture and that would explain why there seems to be very little furniture left in the house. I would have liked to know what watch that was in the closet. I could not imagine it still being there if it was an expensive one though.

amazing paul always looking to see what videos you have done that i haven't seen and my goodness that's a lot of belongings left behind in a house with most of things left in houses that you have discovered and abandoned if there were no family members left to a deceased person if it were the case and not just because of the condition of the structure i wonder weather what was left behind would go to charity to help less fortunate people out who would benefit furniture that's still in very good condition or is what's left goes to a council dump and classed as rubbish as its sad to see so much nice items left behind in abandoned houses really love your explorations paul specially with what gets left behind in a lot of once nice homes going to waste and up for demolition for development projects very sad to see.

Hi Paul With all those cracks and damaged walls in this house I don’t blame these people for getting out in a hurry. It looks like it could fall any minute. I remember the house next door with the cracks in it too. I have a theory I assume these homes are all in Australia, do they have earthquakes there. What else could cause cracks and broken walls but an earthquake? Just my thought. But I have to say that the people who lived there weren’t clean people. Discounting the dust and cobwebs you can see that bathroom floor wasn’t washed in a very very long time. The rest of the place was filthy too. I think you are right that maybe that man in the photo on the wall died there and the family packed up everything intending to take the stuff but never got back there. Now it’s to late since they demolished it. Those are my thoughts on what happened there. Another good explore Paul. Take care and stay safe.

Many comments on the URN ,First lets consider that we have not established 100% proof that it was and URN or if the contents currently existed in there, did the container feel heavy? what material was it made of pottery, ceramic, metal, wood? what was that little plastic bag with the knot on the top containing?, Was it heavy when tugged on? why is it small?, could the ashes have been scattered already, and the unit is holding something else? this or that was not presented here on this video. Second, If I could I put out another perspective, "IF " it was an URN with Ashes, It would not make sense that it be the man that just died, near impossible. Might I suggest It could have been his spouse, child, parent, friend etc., Sometimes people are known to keep their loved ones at home.for as long as wanted, or maybe to be scattered in a special place, or put off until they can join the other when they transcend.

A neat mystery here! . I agree that this speaks of the occupant's untimely death. He, for there is absolutely nothing in this house to suggest any women or children- or another male-- probably died and his relations- family? or associates?-- came and put things in order with the intention of one day retrieving them, or disposing of them---- but they never did. ............Looks like he was an intelligent, single, mature male from the Indian subcontinent- who lead an orderly, somewhat austere life... he was not given to the worldly appearances ---- For note: he never removed the stickers from the microwave's door, or from his washing machine. Also the lack of any rugs- austere?.. but probably what he was used to in the country he came from. Those are very clean and surprisingly well kept polished wooden floors.... someone who liked to go bare foot, perhaps. The damaged walls say a tonne about why the house is unoccupied- and since there seems to have been no attempts at repairs, I would guess it was leased or rented.... the owner simply abandoning it to the elements on his occupant's death. It also shows how a house can stay intact if the roof is sound, the windows and doors secure. . A neat exploration- and a fun 'fill in the blanks' mystery... thank you for presenting it.... :)

Hey thanks Ana! Yeah this man even had that first room dedicated to his reading and probably meditation. A lot of enlightening books. I can imagine him passing away at peace but it is still sad that no one has moved his stuff on. The house would be now on a demolition list with RenewalSA as I found out that houses in bad condition that pre date 1960 will be demo`d as part of the urban renewal scheme. It`s not clear weather this is only for housing commission homes. More and more are becoming vacant thought will is kind of cool for me. :-)

Am I imagining things, or does the dark staining in the center of the bathroom floor look like blood? No one moves out and leaves their toothbrush. Are you able to look in public records to see who owns a house at a certain address? There's a site on the internet that shows in my neighborhood where crimes have been reported--gives the address and type of crime (assault/homicide/robbery/burglary/etc.) but I don't know how far back it goes. (Just a thought if you're really curious to know why this home has been abandoned seems like you could find out something.)

Hey Slayerjane thanks again for the support. I have though about looking further in to a few of these homes and I did notice the stain but I didn`t want to make any claims on the spot too soon. Your music & videos are amazing, I just subbed! All that tile in the bathroom, nice! The inside doesn't look THAT bad I wonder how long it has been vacated? Do you try to find the history on these places? Perhaps family has yet to return to remove items? A shame to let some of those nice objects just rot, I am surprised this place hasn't been ransacked or vandalized. It's almost like the person went to hospital and never returned, maybe has no family. Does your area have earthquakes? With those large cracks in the structure looks like earthquake damage? Nice video!

Hi A10T0ES thanks for subbing and i`m glad you are enjoying my videos. Adelaide area is renown for moving clay soil so these huge cracks are found in a lot of older homes due to natural ground expansion. I find history when all possible but this one I kind of want to remain unknown due to the very fact is seems the person may have passed away and family has packed some stuff up ad may return. The home next door is also abandoned and has major structural cracks which may be the reason these home are condemned. Thanks for your support A10TOES :-)
