I agree, the old west is a favorite subject of mine as well. Thank you for watching one of my very early efforts.

Born and raised in Reno. Still live in the area never knew this existed. You should check out the cemetery by University of Nevada Reno. Lot of old area famous people. Also has some civil war veterans there too. Really old cemetery.

It's a shame the Historical Society doesn't try to do anything about this grave yard in Carson city, or even the town. It is so sad to see this.

I just finished binge watching all your videos and they were all fantastic! Would you consider doing a historical video on the members of the Meriwether Lewis/Clark Expeditions with their graves? I ask because you are a great researcher and you have a knack for digging up good information. I'm particularly interested regarding Meriwether Lewis if you can find actual documentation on any potential offspring of his, because up until now there has been none to be found.

Thanks so much! William Clark's grave appears in my video on Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis. But I would LOVE to do a full project on the Lewis and Clark Expedition some day. Thanks again for watching and for your very kind words!

So this the video that started it all! I really enjoyed it! I read the comments and saw that you would like to go back to Carson City...I think that's a great idea! Think of all that history just waiting to be discovered!!! Watching your videos is always such a treat... whether it is the humble beginnings like this or the hour long video from Illinois, I love them all!!! You sir are a treasure. 👍👍👍

Teresa, you have made my day!!! Thank you for your very kind words. This is where this channel was born... I put this and the Carson City video together to show my friends where I was on vacation. I can't wait to get back there to do it proper.

gosh, I saw Mary Gardners headstone about 6-8 month ago. It was still standing. It would be nice to fix it but it might get You or Me in trouble. Residents in the area say she is of the Gardner family who founded Gardnerville. I was so interesting seeing those old stones

Thank you for the information on the Gardner stone. I was back there in September and plan to make an updated video in the next year. I also visited a few other cemeteries in the area. Thank you for watching :)

William S. Allen, born in Callaway County, Missouri, caught my attention, as I reside in Boone County. Callaway County was named for Captain James Callaway, grandson to Daniel Boone.

This is the place Grave Explorations was born. I have to get back to the Carson City area one of these days, there's still so much to see there.

He was killed near Pyramid Lake but buried in Carson City? That’s quite a haul for a body even in a wagon. In those days people were usually buried on the spot.

Some houses in them areas had underground passage ways from the house to the well to be safe from Indian attacks while getting water.

They didn't remove the graves.. they're too intact to have been.. and why would they have left the markers/ tombstones... They lied.. figured. "who cares"...

It's possible, although I'm not very sure. Most institutional cemeteries I've seen use very simple markers, or no markers at all. From what I understand this was the site of Carson City's original community cemetery that was closed down.
