If this is where i think it, is sadly it has partialy burned down on Monday 25th sept 2023 ( that wing were you gained access) fully invoved and part of the otherwing and the tower, roads around the area and the railway station are still closed .... OBV im not gonna mention the place BUT it can bee looked up easily on the scotish news sites, SUCH a shame it got to the state it was in and has now burnt as it is a grade B listed victorian building

THAT FIRST ROOM WAS LIKE A STEP BACK IN TIME TO THE '90S.

looks like it had a refurb in the early 1990s so only been functional for 20 years before abandoned its past repair now

Hey Alec , this is a great video , I stay near this hotel , loved the part in the beginning of the video when you told the guy to f**k off lol 😂 .

Sadly a serious fire destroyed most of the south building right up to the clock tower , most of the north side seems OK but big demolition diggers sitting in the car park this morning. Tragic seeing such a beautiful building get into that mess then destroyed 😢

Great video why the hell can't they put the homeless in there, instead of letting it rot like that.

Used to pass this hotel every single day when I worked in that area and was always curious about what lies behind that sarcophagus… but didn’t realise it was so derelict :( my father in law always has stories about DJ sets he did in there when it was in its heyday. It’s such a shame. Glad you guys were careful though!

I take it you never got down to the basement level ? it had a gym , jacuzzi and steam room , night club and the boiler room.

This has sadly been caught on fire 2 times they don’t have enough to pay the rent and all that they tried to set it down it has gone live on Facebook I live in Scotland and have passed this place many times they have been ripping it apart but a creepy and weird thing is when it caught on fire a window was open this is near Morrisons in Ayr and the first time the firefighters cut the fire off to much that they weren’t able to burn it to pieces so they decided to In 2023 my mum and dad passed it while it was on fire but I always worry idk if there ok it’s just a habit they where gonna phone me but didn’t want to scare me and think they will not be ok it still is getting ripped apart to this day it’s crazy but sad

This hotel looks quite big .dated a lill bit but still a nice hotel .bet its made a lotta people happy and yhey have their own memories .I don't understand why people would trash it like that just because it's empty .abandoned or not some people don't have respect .theirs some real decay their .be nice to think it could open up once renovated
