Hey explorers and house lovers! Ok after some more research on this home it turns out that is an earlier build than I describe in the video. The original land title states the land was acquired in 1937 and the home built by 1938. More clues inside that it is late 30`s to early 40`s are the dark wood door trims/doors and bakelite fixtures such as light switches and door handles. But the real section is definitely a later extension most likely late 50`s. The power box position in side is also confirmation that that used to be the back door area.
This place is a huge home and sits on a large lot which has made it an all too common target for developers.
It will be replaced with multiple row dwellings but in this video you will get a good look at what the home is like and what was left behind as it seems as though the home belonged to a long time owner or at least kept in the same family for many decades.
Always amazes me what is left behind as again there are many old vintage and antique items of furniture left along with lots of bric a brac and nick nacks that could be reused or donated to Op-shops.
Again family photos and very old ones at that have been left and maybe although unlikely they are coming back for them......it seems they have taken what they needed and left the rest.
Front car port and back shed/study are packed with stuff also.
Huge back yard and another very tranquil setting in this beautiful home.
Hope you enjoy the tour, cheers for watching :-)

I just wanted to say that whoever it was in the family who sewed , he or she was very talented. The evidence is how club chairs and sofa have very beautifully made perfectly fitted slip covers on them to extend the life of what was probably hand me down chairs. I noticed some lovely lever style door handles. I am surprised the beautiful vanity and some other furniture was left behind. And the French doors could by repurposed.

Always loved that song and it's so sadly fitting today. They're tearing down all this old beauty and replacing it with slock. Paul Joseph Watson did a couple of good videos on the horrors of modern architect and modern art. Whether you're Right, Left or Center or apolitical, I think it's agreeable that it's a shame. Here's his first rant of several on how horrible modern architecture is: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fcegiKh8vrKpYaM.html Or if you'd rather, here's the TED talk he clips: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h5eKmLuf0qq-fYU.html

There was some very nice vintage furniture inside & in the garage. I liked the livingroom double french glass panel doors. Very nice fireplace. So many items, belongings & mementos left behind always makes my heart hurt a little. I guess that shows that we should decorate the way we like because the next generation after we pass on probably won't like it anyway. That also pulls at my heart strings, but is the way of time that marches on, eh?! Thanks for a great tour of this lovely home! I laughed at your comment about not knowing much about womens shoes except on weekends! 🤣 the art deco ceiling medallions & bathroom tile work are real eye pleasers. 🙋‍♀️💜✌

Beautiful house and garden. Didn't see a single crack in the walls either. Loved the bathroom. So sad. Lots of items in there worth quite a bit. The globe in the summerhouse was an old one with a metal base and stand. They are sought after because many of the countries change names over time. The item that you thought was done in crochet was a tapestry firescreen. Lots of other things worth saving, but so wish that house could be saved! :-(

Hoping all the beds and other Queen Anne furniture gets saved. I love the Queen Anne dressing table and the spacious room with Art Deco ceiling roses. The internal fixtures look original from the Art Deco period and the bathroom is in good condition. Appears to have been an addition to the back section of the house and the kitchen has been altered around the late 1970s. The huge tree in the backyard is magical looking. Hoping the old furniture gets saved.

Too long don't want to read... Oh my goodness what a find. I love it all. They sure did leave a lot of antique/valuables behind. Love the side fence/gate when you went through. Has a beautiful large Monstera deliciosa plant in the yard. Should have some awesome fruit on it. I loved eating that when I was a kid. Beautiful sofas, mum had a chunky one like it in a burgundy corduroy. I don't remember mum's having wheels, I think it was large round stumps for legs with that matching foot stool like that one. I like the wall paper in the laundry, kitchen. They are called cotton reels. Bobbins are the tiny ones that go below the needle in a sewing machine. The box is a sewing box full of chocolate boxes with different cottons etc in them. Nice hall light. Mum had a pantry made with louvered doors like those kitchen ones. I see they took the chandelier and the chairs to the dinning suite but left the broken cabinet and table. The ceramic bird is probably an antique and that Pyrex lid is probably a much wanted item for a collector. They call it a formal lounge room. I love that twisted lamp shade. The loungeroom and hallway's candle light chandelier, wow. I just don't understand how some people can leave the stuff they do. They don't seem to know or understand the value of some of the things they leave behind. I am wondering if that is real crystal on the main bedroom chandelier. I watch urban explorers and they always comment on the Christmas deco's that are left behind. XD Omg a porcelain doll. Those photos are family history that can never be replaced. You missed the ceramic bell at your feet. XD OMG those bathroom tiles and matching bath tub and shower behind the door, I just love them. They at least got a matching sink or was it the pedestal one missing the pedestal and surrounded by a cabinet. It would have been yellow to match the bathtub. Can't half tell I'm an art deco fan. As a kid I loved to swim in mum's deep powder blue bath. I hate the baths they have these days, can't lay down in them and be covered with water. Single beds matching the double bed.. wow. The kids didn't know value when they saw it. My sister had one of those beds, not the foot and header, just the springs part. It used to sag in the middle and she would sleep in like a cocoon. Toilet matches the bathroom. Ribbon typewriters are worth something. I didn't see any cracks in the walls, did you? The world globe looks metal to me. Someone didn't take the Webber with them, cause "you always take the Webber with you". That's a song reference joke I had with a friend once. Those spiders are scary and huge. The ship is either tapestry or cross stitch but it's nice. was that Easter eggs on the chest of drawers or Christmas baubles? Books, Alister McClez (not sure on the spelling here) Night without End. The life and times of king George the 6th. lol.

With all the dust and cobwebs, original furniture and old photos it seems like no one lived there full time after the older woman (mother?, grandmother?) died. This is a lovely home. My thoughts are that it had land to this home. The books on shearing and horses. It’s quite possible that over time the land has been sold off for other homes/development. You never stop reading about the things you love. It saddens me that the developers will knock it down. Why they can’t build around it and work it into the new development always astounds me. I would prefer a home like this to a brand new dog house that they seem to build today

I would love to be able to travel the world in search of such treasures in order to preserve such masterpieces af days gone by.

So sad that a house with such good bones will be torn down. Some updating and it would make a great family home. I love the backyard and can imagine sitting on the back porch sipping tea and enjoying the breeze.

It amazes me how many properties you find, some you look at and you can understand why they are being demolished but other ones you’ve shown us don’t make sense. As you said in this one the family have sat on it and now have a lovely retirement nest egg. Love what your doing, two of the properties I’ve lived in over the years have now been long gone, did manage to get pic of one of them before it was demolished but only the outside, keep up with the documenting.

Love it already beautiful and the French doors are on the house I’m living in and the same door handles so sad to see these classic homes be torn down for awful uncharacteristic boxes. Beautiful cherished family memories and treasures left behind the backyard was nice and private. Great minds think alike I would definitely say yellow to match the bath. Thank you soo much again. A beautiful gem gone forever 😌:-) that would make a great little retreat that was a Weber bbq

Hi, Paul- you did a great job, thank you. This one really upset me, though. Nothing you did. Seeing the disregard, first, for a parents things, pictures, and childhood things, which they were so careful to save. Obviously these folks were well-to-do, with this nice of a home, very well kept, and horses for the kiddos, and sheep and whatever else, and it always angers me to see pictures just dumped on the floor and left, like that. The furniture ought to be given away, if they don't want it, there are a ton of people who could never, in a million years, afford that kind of thing, who would gratefully accept it. There are also organizations who will accept the knick-knacks as a donation, so there is just no excuse for letting any of it go to waste. It angers me to see that grand home get torn down, and that stunning lot and trees be destroyed. I know time waits for no man, but still......-SDK
