@@NukeyB Daisy had been abused in some way and then disposed of by her owner. And the dogs with sensitive souls need time to heal and become happy and self confident again - in her case Ermioni put her into the company of other happy and friendly dogs and she recovered within one year and was adopted. You can see in the video that when Daisy saw thru the wire fence the other happy dogs, for a short while she wagged her tail - this was the first good sign.

@@carm7518 I knew this was Greece! Saw the Yiayia in mourning wearing black. And yes, as a Greek American, I wholeheartedly agree with you. My husband's grandmother would give him kittens in a bag to throw into the river. And that was in Massachusetts! I hope the western world shames them into helping animals.

I am a Greek American who rescues animals, so while I have an issue with your blanket statement, I do agree in Greece a lot of people don't give a sh*t about animals. My husband's Yiayia wanted him throw kittens in the river - in Massachusetts! Old habits die hard. Sad when you have to shame humans to be humane.

Unfortunately, in Greece it's common to see injured,sick,emaciated dogs and cats on the streets,on the side of the road,just roaming around desperately looking for food and love..very few care.. check Takis shelter as well,this guy who gave everything he had to save the animals in his town,this man has a story or two to tell about how things are in Greece about the plague of stray animals! The majority of people don't care..and it's considered normal to keep dogs in remote areas attached to a a tree by a one meter chain,with no vet care,company,shelter, just dirty water to drink..they get food once or twice a week if lucky..and if you tell them this isn't the way to keep an animal they look at you as you are the crazy one,as they don't see anything wrong with that..Yes,it's that bad..

Unfortunately,i've lived in Greece for four summers of my life (three months every time) and i've witnessed with my own eyes what i told you.. at the end,i've spent my time there feeding,fixing and rescuing cats and dogs everywhere..it was horrible..same as the south of Italy,where the situation it's very similar.. I used to have two suitcases,one full only of dry and can food,medicine,collars etc etc.. And so many times i've been insulted,mocked and even attacked by locals who didn't even want me to help those poor animals..once i was pushed and insulted because i gave some water and food to a miserable donkey who was swaying and almost collapsing..his nice owner left him tied under the scorching greek sun of august with so much weight on his back,while he was having a beer with his friends.. So sad..i am not saying ALL greek people are like this,i've also met nice ones who were willing to help,but the greatest part think animals are just on this planet to be used and abused,if they cannot be of and service (like cats,or older dogs) they are just a bother.. It's so so sad.. Have a great day..👍

Seeing mankind manifest themselves in so many unpleasant ways. (1) doing such as this to one of people's most loyal companions.

This sweet lovely dog has been adopted after she spent one year in the Shelter. It was not said where she is with her adoptive family. She had been shaking when people approached her, I can't imagine what had been done to her before. I love this nice doggy and am happy that she is in good place now.

There are monsters among us, under human shape. In one of his novels John Steinbeck the Nobel Prize winner wrote this. He wrote that some human monsters who are born without a conscience. They are not human. Hitler was one of them. But it seems that in Greece too, there are a few of them. But Takis, the animal lover is the opposite, just watch his shelter and what he is doing.

Dear Lisa, Ermioni is an angel, I totally trust her and I support her shelter with monthly donations. If she does not publish updates on Daisy, it's with a good reason.

Human nature has enormous flaws. There cannot be a better world without improving human nature. People are crazy with "property." When I feed some tiny starlings in the city, I stand on the sidewalk and throw some crushed peanuts to them, some people come out of the housing block to tell me: "go somewhere else, do it in your own area." The house wall and windows are at 10 yards' distance from the sidewalk where I am standing, but they tell me that they are irritated by me standing there. Now, imagine that even some visible minorities tell me that some birds (pigeons and starlings originating from England) are not originally N.Americans, so they have no right to be fed here in N.America. I am stunned of peoples' dumbness and selfishness. They defend territory like crazy and say: "People come first." (not animals).

@@palmapechy7439 Thank you for your empathy and kindness. Every animal deserves help regardless of where they are from or their breed. I also feed pigeons and other birds. I love pigeons .., such peaceful, intelligent birds. 💕

My father who is rather old by now, 9 years ago was approached one night in the city by a half blind raccoon mother with her 2 pups. He gave them food, and they recognized him from then on and followed him and they became friends, and the next generation of raccoons followed suit, brought their pups to my father and took food from his hands even. Selfish people here often curse him for this, steal the food (cookies) he puts down for them or these people put a heap of broken glass to that feeding spot. Now, imagine what will happen in the future, when the number of such people reaches the limit - today there are 15 times more "humans" on earth then 400 years ago. Well, 19 years ago in my father heard and recorded a broadcast in French from University Laval (Quebec), which talked about some report about genetically modifying the crowd to create a peaceful and happy new race. He has the recording on tape. Well, it's an alleged plan to create humanoid bio robot workers who are obedient, happy. If you try to find that report somewhere, the title was this: "Beyond Therapy - Bio Technology For The Pursuit Of Happiness." The report is American - 2003. Wild animals are grateful to my father for his help - pigeons sit on his shoulders and some squirrels follow him and run to him to have peanuts and walnuts.

She was expecting to be handled roughly or beaten, to be physically abused. My dog never got rid of these looks she sometimes gives me when her fear overcomes her. Like for example when I have to get her harness on and she isn't mentally ready or I approach too fast.
