I can't believe there is power! What a wonderful, sad old girl. In that large bedroom, it could have been a straw 'puff' stool that the material desinigrated from. Though they too were often horse hair. Another favourite. Stay safe

Love your drone and camera video cinematography Dave you always put the perfect music to all your videos. That first part of the mansion was so dodgy but wow it lead you to some amazing rooms. Such a shame its falling down. I dont think you noticed an alarm sensor in the corner of one of the rooms that had a red light on it, i thought you were going to get caught especially when you heard a police car. Can i give you a list of things i would love to rescue please The window shutters, the servants bells, the drying maid in the kitchen, and the beautiful staircase. Its so sad that another 10 years that place will probably be just a shell. What a shame. Im so glad to follow you on this lovely explore, thankyou x

Hi Dave. I read a good bit about this place. The run down part at the back was used as staff/guest accommodation. Maybe that is why it is so run down. Not as solidly built as the main house?. I could tell you some of the history of the place, but don't want to add a lot of stuff to me comment. One thing I will say, is the box you saw in the entrance, with the name Capt D Auchinleck, he was the eldest son of Thomas Aucchinleck and Jane Loxdale. Thomas died on 1st Feb 1893, leaving Jane a widow. Their son David (The name on the side of the box) married Madaline Scott . He was killed in action at Ypres in 1914 while serving with the Royal Enniskillen Fusiliers. His widow stayed with her mother-in-law until she died in 1921 and then on her own until her death in 1948. The Darling name came into it later. Anyways. A bit of the history stuff for you. I also caught some creepy bits..lol. At 14:54, it sounded like a woman say ''Mmm''. There was a lot of whispering again at 19:30, female voices. I don't think it was the girls. A breath at 19:50. Possible whisper/noise at 21:17. Then at 25:08 there were bottles rattling, as you were leaving the basement. hope you don't mind me telling you this stuff..lol. Oh yeah, one last thing. NO, sex isn't necessary...🤣🤣. xx

I was one of the original explorers back in the 80s as a teen...i moved around as an adult and then my kids and i explored...all over america...from farmhouses to old tuberculosis hospitals...i had many spooky expierences along the way. Back before youtube lol

So sad that such a beautiful once much loved home has been left to rot. It looks like it's past the point of no return. I was so glad when you left as I felt that the floors could give way at any moment. Wishing you all a Happy Christmas & good health and happiness in 2024.

It`s a shame that some rooms were rotting away and others looked untouched Just have to be so careful going through so floors don`t cave in or ceilings don`t fall on top of you .I wish we could see how it looked when people lived their with beautiful furniture, but when theirs no one around to take care of it that`s what happens. every things begins to just rot away. some more identified photographs for my archive. Todays include some pictures of Lt Ralph Reginald Auchinleck Darling of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. The photographs inlude some taken on his wedding day, some in Egypt and the one below. I have done some quick research on the London Gazette website and have found some entries. e.g. Temporary Lt R.R.A. Darling from R Innis Fus, to be Lieut 25th August 1917. 2nd Lt R.A.A. Darling is seconded for service with the Army Signals Service, 8th December 1918. Could somebody be so kind as to upload his medal index card for me?😢

Dave, I'm just guessing, but 3930 may be the serial number for the foot locker, or whatever that thing is. The military likes to put serial numbers on *everything,* from aircraft and ships, all the way down to individual soldiers. 🙂

When he served in the navy we still had the most powerful Senior Service in the world. The end of an era. Mansion will probably be torn down and the grounds themselves most likely to end up as a new, posh housing estate.

It always makes me feel sad , that houses , whatever they look like are empty , when so many people are struggling to rent somewhere to live , it’s a crime , and most native born uk residents are always last on the waiting lists for housing, I wouldn’t care if someone said it was haunted !!! Just get the homeless housed !!!.

You should go to Eden camp outside of Helmsley North Yorkshire was a army camp used in the 2nd world war soilders where based, it's a visitor centre it's haunted

I cannot for the life of me understand how any local council/government can allow this to happen If the family want to keep it they should be forced to maintain. After 2-4 abandonment, they should be allowed to sell . This place could have been used as recovery homes, children and other refuges. The possibilities are endless . It’s disgusting for all these places to just go to ruin

If you ever fancy doing one over here in Ireland I know a load of odd places like this. An actual mausoleum and a house out in the sticks where "something hairy" has been seen for decades.

At about 19:00 in the living room you were saying it looks like it was a hotel. As you turned to walk to the door to leave on the left high on wall nesr ceiling was something small with a light. I thought it might be a motion detecter alarm.

You are lucky you did not get caught by the new owner exploring this one. Apparently no local urban explorers would go near it. Finders Beepers covered it last week.

OMG ! That place was so amazing. So much distroyed but so much not too. That stairway was amazing. So grand but not taking huge space. Just absolutley breath taking. And that bed room OMG. Perhaps one of thw most beautiful houses ever. An all of the military items. I sure hope there is family to collect such items or museums to be donated to. It would be so sad for them to have survived so long only yo lose their battle w/time. When was this home built ? God it is so beautiful. Would love the facts x_#BDRMS, X_# of BA RMS ect, type of thing. An if it was just the family home (got to love the door w/the height mesurements) perhaps it was a bed & breakfast or perhaps they other vets came there to retire in comfort later in life or something. I saw very few simple day to day items. Like all the dishwear was more of a formal nature. He must have had good care takers for there isnt much signs of anyones last days/months. Quite organized TBH. Life & ones words gets smaller w/age so if you have means (or love) to be cared for well, keeping picked up behind x1 old person would be definitely possible. I'm old an unfortunately cant get around too well & will likely need to be dug out one day 😢. It bites being the last one of a family thats for sure. Anyways, enough poor me I'm just finishing being really sick (out of the blue 😢 HATE this growing old BS) blah, blah, blah, most excellent video ! Thank you I enjoyed it greatly. I might go back to sleep now I can't wait till I'm feeling better. Darlings, I know there is danger in what you do (one wrong move & you may have a old house upon you an all) but that balck mold is really concerning. 😢 But I'm sure ya got Mama's of your own telling you already. This was a beautiful house. What a shame to let it get into this state. The fenced around building would have been dog kennel and compound. The larger room for dogs and the smaller side room would have been for feed, etc. Most likely at night time they would be left free to roam entire grounds, but daytime would be kept in this area. It would have been a fairly common feature for affluent Victorian properties.
