in todays video, my friends and i discover a very unique and eccentric mansion located in
portugal. this mansion dates back to the early 1900's and lived in a bloodline of famous
architects. the home has always been passed down to the next generation with its kids also
inheriting a large fortune from their family runned business that first started by their great great
grandfather.
the grandfather was a german archtect, famous for building houses for a very wealthy german
royal dynasty known as the wittelsbach. during his retirement he moved to portugal and enjoyed his
last years with his wife. as the families lineage went on, it seemed its modern generation has
move to other parts of the world & to wealthy to even care. this once beloved home has now
been since abandoned and frozen in time.

The Chateau de Chambord in Loire valley was built in the 1500’s and still stands today and is National French treasure. The other is NeuschwansteIn Castle in Germany and was built in late 1800’s and is also there and what Mr Walt Disney used as inspiration for cinderella‘s castle.

The name carved on the bed headboard "Wittelsbach" is one of the oldest German aristocratic families. The Letters "H" might be stand for Habsburg and "L" for Lothringen. The picture on floor next to bed is from Ludwig II Otto Friedrich Wilhelm von Wittelsbach, King of Bavaria, August 25, 1845 - June 13, 1886, originating from the House of Wittelsbach, was King of Bavaria from March 10, 1864 until his death

And empress Elisabeth from Austria was his cousin. She also popular under the name "Sisi".That would also explain the pictures everywhere with Austrian motifs. There was also a line among the Habsburgs that was close to the Spanish royal family in the mediaval age. Possibly the owners of the castle were descendants of it.

Steve , in the vases in the hall , you thought they could not be feathers but instead some kind of plant ? no darling they are in fact Ostrich feathers , often used in decorations way back in the day . although Ostriches can not fly , they still have beautiful feathers , used to be used to adorn ladies hats from around 1600s through to the early 1900s

My guess is that this mansion belonged to a member of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, which is the main Austrian Royal house. Emperor Charles I of Austria died at only 34 whilst living in Portugal after the Monarchy was abolished in Austria. He had children, so I guess this would have been passed down to the family? Not sure if it ever belonged to Charles I, but it seems to be the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, specially given that the House of Habsburg was the third royal house in Portugal a few centuries prior.
