Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today we’ll be exploring a recently abandoned nursing home. Throughout our explore we stumble across countless medical supplies and even dawn biohazard suits and respirators due to the large amounts of black mold present in the building. As a former nursing working in nursing homes, I wish we could see more of what the nurses stations looked like ): but you do an excellent job of explaining purposes of items you find. I admire your research you put into your videos as well. You are by far, one of my favorite explores :)

As a CNA this video is so sad to me, it's very frustrating to see all this equipment go to waste, it definitely isn't cheap and I wish they could have given it to those in need before the mold got to it :( loved this explore though, it's so eerie seeing an environment that I see in full action in a state of abandonment and decay

that was definitely the most frustrating thing for me! it felt like such a waste having all of those wheelchairs and walkers left to collect dust

So that one machine you saw with the scale(next to the one where it said ‘please do not use’) it’s actually called a sit to stand lift. It basically helps the resident stand temporarily (like to move them from bed to wheelchair, or wheelchair to to bathroom) you would put some kind of belt like thing around them( if you google sit to stand, you will see what I’m talking about) but you put the thing around them, there’s 2 buckles you put together to secure it on them, tighten it enough to where it won’t slide on them. There’s a piece on each side that actually goes on the machine, put those pieces on the machine, then you would lift them up.

Those IV stands are also used for feeding pumps for people getting tube feedings.

I am in disbelief. All these things can be used for patients rn. Granted things expire but the wheelchair and physical therapy supplies can be used. Ugh that’s so sad.

The weighted forks seem like they’d be for people with tremors, it helps keep the food stable- I’m not a professional though

Black mold is highly deadly i think so they had to shut down

They abandoned it maybe due to money issues then due to water damage black mold came

I think they said that they had financial problems/bankrupsy so they had to shut down, most of the stuff stayed there because they didn’t have money to take it out probably? About the black mold thing, i guess after some time there was a lot of water damage and leaks so the mold expanded quickly not sure tho!!

mainly i would suggest doing lots of research and being well informed on all of the risks of the hobby (potential for injury, exposure to black mold/asbestos, legal trouble)
