Exploring A Hospital Trapped In Time - Used To Treat Tuberculosis

Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel! Today we’ll be exploring an abandoned sanatorium which opened and operated throughout the early 1900’s to treat the influx of tuberculosis cases hitting the country. The tuberculosis epidemic had devastating effects on the patients lungs and was also referred to as “consumption” and “the white plague.” With countless patients succumbing to the infection, there was a high demand for sanatoria to be developed to house and quarantine these individuals, both in hopes of slowing the spread of the contagion as well as finding a cure. The architecture of the buildings included ample windows and French doors to support the treatment regimen of the time which included fresh air and exposure to sunlight. Today many aspects of the campus remain neglected. Join my boyfriend Sonny and I as we make our way through this sanatorium!

I'm disappointed in myself that I never thought to take videos of abandoned places I've been in. I took photos tho! But I went into an abandoned insane asylum that was built in the 1800s and was abandoned in the 1960s. It was amazing and now it's torn down. I also have been in a couple abandoned schools from the 1930s and some old trailers out in the middle of nowhere that has stuff in it from the 50s

I was wondering as I was watching , do you get scared or like frightened sometimes and think that a creepy person may pop out of nowhere and startle you. Or like you see a shadow and think it’s someone or something but it’s nothing? Or run into anyone else filming or exploring when you are?

tbh i rarely get scared. i have had a few paranormal encounters where i heard someone talking in the building but knew Sonny and i were the only ones in there. and yes ive actually bumped into other explorers a handful of times, usually just people who are trying to document the places like we are😊

@@UrbexMuse you’re brave. I mean I know it’s not like your doing something that crazy, but still, knowing myself and being the type of person that can be startled by someone opening a door, kind of leads me to believe that exploring stuff like this on my own might not be the best idea for a couple obvious reasons. One being that I would make a scene, without meaning to. But like I’m perfectly fine just watching other people explore through my computer screen. I find this stuff soo soo intriguing. One of my favorite things (which I think you said is one of your also) is seeing the patient files, like not only the content on it but the shape that it’s in, like all old looking.

the paper is definitely delicate but not that bad! the only issue i have is sometimes multiple pages get really stuck together and i need to peel them apart very gently to not damage them

@@CrypticCookieEdits i never intentionally break anything and i actually usually don’t take home anything from the buildings. on the very rare occasions that i have i make sure that it isnt something integral to the experience of future explorers and only a small memento. i dont feel comfortable taking in excess or for reselling

me and my friends went to a pioneer village (There were people roleplaying there) and she took a letter, and threw it away after. Let's say that i told her to get it out and yelled at her. I hate that friend now.
