Today, Day Hike Dave and I explore Rays Hill Tunnel, one of three original Pennsylvania Turnpike tunnels that were abandoned (this one in 1968) after two massive realignment projects.

Nice to see you and Dave hiking together. I have not been to any of the abandoned turnpike tunnels, but it looks like a really eerie and interesting experience to walk through them.

I suppose that it may not be for everyone, but I am just fascinated by this stuff. If I could hike to the Titanic, I would. I hope that you get the chance someday. I am not an expert, but I would be willing to go along. Thanks for watching!

@@LumberjackPaAwesome, summer gets busy for me with my kids out of school but I would be interested in collaborating on a video in the fall. I find abandoned buildings and things like this really interesting too.

Thanks for checking out our little get-together! It was indeed a history lesson for me. You should go because it is so accessible and surrounded by nature. I want to bike the whole thirteen miles someday. Hike on!

Loved the thumbnail. That is so cool looking. I wish I could still hike but with health issues I am not able to anymore. I always loved hiking in nature. I'm surprised there aren't homeless sleeping in the tunnel or stray animals. The echo at 9:57. 🤣

It was a little surprising to me also, but not one animal or even a hint of human activity was found other than graffiti.
