Los Altos de Las Palas Mazarron Murcia Spain.
Selling off plan in Aug 2008 - 58 villas starting from 300,000 euros without a swimming pool and built by the same developer that built Hacienda del Alamo golf resort about 20 minutes away.
When the development was constructed, properties failed to sell, even thou attractively finished, the prices were too high for the local market and the location failed to attract overseas buyers.
After the economic downturn in 2010, the property market declined considerably, leaving the properties overpriced and unsold. Since 2011, the site is fenced in with 24hr security and has remained uninhabited ever since.

Hi Shaun, Thank you for all your hard work entertaining us. Look after your self, two videos a week is a lot of work. One a week is plenty. I ask people to watch the adds. KZfaqr creators spend a lot time, money and get very little back, penny's per video. Smash the thumbs up and hit that bell people.

Watched this video 3 and Half years after you had released it. And as you were driving I recognised the place and realised it was the area we went too on my last visit just before I came back to the UK 😊. Great to see you with the famous T-Shirt 👍

It looks like it would have been a nice place, if a bit out in the sticks. Maybe someone will pick it up and finish it, or maybe it will gradually crumble away. Thanks for sharing Shaun

As the state of these villas and townhouses, for the latter is worth 200,000 eur and the villas 400,000 as it is.at about 40 villas and same townhouses, lets do the maths.

I can't believe that the developer would invest so much time & money into building an entire community **_without_** doing proper market research **_beforehand._** Anyhow love the way you deployed your Drone Air Force 😊 to sneak in & get those aerial shots when you can't access something directly. Thanks for the video Shaun and I wonder if any people lost money at the time as I know here in Almeria there are a couple of developments where many buyers lost thousands of Euros and the houses are just falling into rack and ruin.

No, i really dont think so in Spain, over that project there are 1 or more banks, Means its a bank own and repossession property now. Nobody will venture in these kind of risk. I really dont know the state of the buildings.but ine day, the banks will proceed to sell part of full of them, which according to me will be a hundred millions euros,.I looked an decommissioned nuclear plant, a strange castle, an old bridge, a new and unused airport, another residencial project of a 100 townhouses, and many more, all which i maked the location.

Thankfully since this video they have reopened and have finished off the buildings, roads and selling the homes. I’ve done a video on the update.

It just beggars disbelief that these developments were never completed or occupied. It seems such a waste of money and manpower to just walk away and let the place be empty and unused. cheers Shaun 👍🇦🇺🍷🍷

@ Following on from our messages a couple of months ago, it appears that the development is proving popular enough with 8 houses now reserved. Just out of interest, have you been to the area recently?

@@ultimatehomes-spain Hi, yes I did re-visit in December (2022) on a Saturday and drove into the urbanisation as I could see builders there but was not allowed to explore, but asked to return in the week. I thought I'll leave it to the summer and see how much progress has happened.

The gardens do not have too many weeds so it has either been well maintained (Banks don't usually do this on repossessions so unlikely) or it has been tidied up as the bank is preparing to auction them off. It would be interesting to see if they are sold off individually or as a job lot to a developer

*My thoughts exactly after doing a google aerial view of the site. All the properties seem to be beautifully surrounded by Cyprus trees which means **_someone_** has got to be watering them.*

It's a shame about all that unfinished developments. But the same thing happened in the US in the lates nineties when the market crashed. One those units could have been my winter home in Spain. At least you got some nice drone footage with your Mavic Pro. Cheers.

I can take you to a load of places like this in Tenerife that are just a building site or complete. Same story builders went bankrupt or mayor signed off illegal builds

Those homes look great from above. Can’t believe they’re all closed down. Seems like a lot of places in Spain are like this... great video and good info there bro. Was that the new drone in flight? I’m going to get me a magic mini or magic 1 this year switch do you recommend? Can you do a comparison? Have a great week

@ great. But will spain let me in for free after brexit. I think I'll fail retirement visa requirements. Any Spanish wanting to retire to uk would need £25.000 a year as opposed to €2400 a month to retire to spain.

Nose por qué has ido por los vivancos solo está a 5 minutos de la palas donde puedes encontrar todo lo que necesites... Nose por qué dices que se coge el peaje en el mingrano el peaje está entre las palas y tallante.... Esta muy bien que agas vídeos pero infórmate primero.

I do not know why you have gone through the vivancos it is only 5 minutes from the shovels where you can find everything you need ... I do not know why you say that the toll is taken in the mingrano the toll is between the shovels and tallante ...
