Abandoned Valero - Rock Hill, SC. Closed a while back and stripped to the shell of itself. Inside is completely empty. Even fuel pumps are gone with the exception of the diesel pumps.

I was born in November 1984 : Pay phones - beepers / Good TV stuff back then. And things no longer exist anymore.

I went through a small town in Florida few weeks ago and seen a pay phone outside of a gas station I stop at to get gas the pay phone still worked lol

I used to stop at that Valero on my way to and from work all the time for gas and food when I was working in Rock Hill, SC. That was over ten years ago now.

Another reason to visit Augusta ga - We have a very very recently closed gas station with a Dairy Queen, and also an abandoned Steak ‘n Shake across from each other

You should take a road trip on what's left of Old Route 66...lots of abandoned gas stations and other cool sights. Great video! Stay awesome!

Great as always! I am glad I live out west, I don't think we have cicadas(luckily). Speaking of payphones My high school still has one, It used to work until some kid ripped the phone apart. My school was built in the 70s and still is very 70sish in there(never got remodeled). You guys were lucky with Payphones because now everyone has Smartphones and I have even 6 year olds with phones. I don't think that is right but yeah. Every one is on phones these days and it makes it hard to interact. I don't have a phone yet so yeah

Valero is getting increasingly rare near me. Had one in my area, but it was demolished for a Kum and Go... which is also soon to be on its way out as soon as Maverik rebrands it. I've seen one or two still operating in northern Colorado, or at least, the stations featured Valero-branded pumps and stuff.

I know right we had some here in New Mexico area but they turn them into circle k brands as for maverick we got a couple of them around here in New Mexico idk if there will be a buccees coming to our big city area I recently herd a couple of months when I vacation in arizona that somewhere outside of phoenix they planned on building a one of those texas based buccee's outside of Phoenix AZ area so who knows. In recent news I did hear that our big city area towns like Albuquerque NM there planning on building on a INy N OUT burger but from what I seen lately you guys in Colorado are pretty lucky to get one I always had to go to Arizona or Utah for that IN N Out burger.

@@carrigan8030 Four or five years ago, I would not have expected an In N Out to even open as far north as Loveland, Colorado... But here we are. It was quite surreal to see the shear amount of visitors on the first day! As surpeising as it may be, it was not the first one to open in the broader Northern Colorado area though; for instance, the one in Thornton (badically a Denver suburb) opened prior to Loveland.

@@Optopolis From what I herd is that Colorado springs, Colorado I guess they did built a distribution center there to my understanding that was there first step in the door in order for IN N out to be in that area and now since they open some and have a distribution center in Colorado Springs, Colorado now they can expand to our market here in New Mexico but anyways that won't be until 2027 to build one here in Albuquerque so we might have to wait awhile haha,

My hobby shop used to be just down the road. They’re gone now too. If I remember right this isn’t the first time this gas station closed down. It was vacant for a while before Valero came in. Can’t remember what it was before this though. Never got gas there.

An awesome video, Wallie! 👍👍👍👍 Here in Weirton, WV we once had a Valero gas station, maybe 2 of them, though that's been a number of years ago. As for gas stations, they come and go. Many years ago, we once had 3 sometimes 4 Exxon gas stations at a number of different locations here in Weirton.

The gas station was going the lot is leased when they announced the new panthers practice stadium they wanted to sell the lad and the owner didn't want to pay what they were asking

There’s a Valero with walking distance of my house and just recently it rebranded as an Exxon, but no changes other than the name. It’s super ghetto, and was shut down by the state of Pennsylvania a few times so I’m not surprised seeing one closed.

weird that in the USA it is allowed stuff to be Abandoned like this, Here in the Netherlands Abandoned buidings are very rare. And most of the time buildings get reused like office buildings converted to apartements.

The owner was shot in the head and killed during an armed robbery. I live about 5 minutes from this place. Probably one of the reasons it is still closed, probate and legal issues.
