I always loved the way this Wendy's looked when I was a kid. In fact, I still think it has an interesting look. The Bob Evan's next to it was cool as well with the tall wooden ceilings.

Breezewood is the gateway to the beaches, most people just stopped there to take a leak before hitting the highway to Maryland

I worked there when I was in high school.. 2005-2006, that was an outdoor seating area outside, man that brings back memories looking inside like that! Great video!

The Wendy’s near me used to have the sunroom and that same carpet. Until about ten years ago when the redid it and tore down the sunroom.

I remember when Breezewood was a hustling town. So much traffic it was like rush hour never ended.

According to old google street view photos it still had the signs in 2014 and they were gone in 2018. That boarded up building use to be a Sheetz.

Love love love your videos! I’m from the area and worked at the Breezewood Pizza Hut back in 2009-2011. I believe Wendy’s closed in 2015. Not sure if your in to old cemeteries but if you are there’s one in the middle of the woods there beside the truck stop behind the Pizza Hut.

I was just on Google Earth and the last street view is dated for 2019 and it was closed at thst time already. Love your channel man. I'll be passing threw Breezewood at the end of April heading to the Pennsylvania Maple Festival in Somerset County. In the small town of Meyersdale. The town my Dad and Mom grew up in.

that location has been gone for years, I remember going there when I was going to ocean city back in 2013.

That design is from when they had their Super Bar, that was a mini buffet with salad stuff, pudding, and fruit. I believe it closed in late 2015 or early 2016.

There is an Abandoned tiny grocery store on the left as your heading west out of town. There were a bunch of semi trucks parked in the parking lot last time I looked on Google earth. My grandfather and I were staying in Breezewood at the Econo Lodge that is no longer there. We went up to the tiny grocery store and bought some snacks and drinks. This was way back I 1987 when I was just starting 10th grade. Boy does that make me feel old. Lol

Yep! This abandoned Wendy's is a cool find! The last time I have eaten at my local Wendy's restaurant was 3 or 4 years ago with some friends of mine! I can't remember what I got to eat, but I do recall that time I went! It was a great video! I enjoyed watching! ❤😘👍

I would imagine this is from the late 80s-early 90s from the interior design, so it’s been a while since it closed. I’ve seen them getting a face lift these days.

You could go to Clinton, Ohio, a village where the whole downtown is abandoned. There’s also an abandoned school but it’s close to the road and a house

Jeez! I was wondering when you were gonna hit up this place! I was supposed to do all those abandoned places there in Breezewood but the guy I was with was too scared about getting caught even though right after, we explored an abandoned Days Inn hotel that was filled with No Trespassing signs that has now been demolished due to arson. One of these days when I come back, I'll film what I can, probably do the abandoned PA Turnpike Tunnels again. Ticks me off a little that I couldn't film all the places here lol

Fantastic video as usual Wallie, I like that you filmed the Wendy's in the snow, beautiful. I would give anything right now to have a Baconator combo meal. I think Wendy's is one of the best burgers you can get for a fast food restaurant chain. So sad to see so many of them close. Makes me sad. I live in Yucaipa California, and we used to have one with a Solarium I guess you would call it oh, just like the one in this video. Are Wendy's location closed because eventually people just didn't go to eat there as much as they used to in the beginning. So over many years, it was repurposed into different restaurants, thankfully, they did not change the outside of the building. So it still looks almost the same as it has for many years. Right now, our first former Wendy's has been converted to a Mexican restaurant, and our second Wendy's, which was the newer style that doesn't have the solarium, it has been repurposed as a Panda Express. My dad was there on the last night that they were open, he said it was pretty sad to see the place go. I’m from around Cleveland, OH and went to D.C. on a multiple day field trip and I believe it was still open around 2007-08 for our eight grade field trip when we passed through Breezewood on our way to. I feel like it was a lunch option for us but I can’t quite remember. Can’t say what happened after that but I figured that would give a little insight on possible when it closed. I do remember the Zelienople service plaza was still open on the Penna Turnpike cause I remember it fondly due to the fact that was the last time I was in that particular service plaza before it closed.

I like the layout of the dining room. I worked at a Wendy’s in Moundsville, WV in 2009 and they had the old( my guess original) interior with the carpet and the cool windows in the front. Then they closed down the dining room for remodeling to look like this one.

Dont know if your interested. But I came across 3 or 4 photos of Breezewood from 2002 that I took as I was headed to Sometset for my cousins funeral years ago. Gas was under 2 dollers a gallon back then.

I just went through Breezewood a couple days ago and this building was gone.

It closed down 2014/2015... Another one to see in breezewood pa is Post House cafe. It closed in 2005

I'm not too sure, but there would probably be more abandoned buildings if Breezewood got a proper freeway-to-freeway interchange instead of the convoluted mess that exists there now for traffic following I-70. Breezewood basically exists because of the motorist services there. Or at least, that is the supposed reason why I-70 traffic has to stop at traffic lights, to try and get people to patronize the businesses there. Many will say that the section of I-70 through Glenwood Canyon in Colorado made I-70 a complete Interstate highway in 1992, but I'm not going to believe that I-70 is truly finished until a proper freeway-to-freeway interchange in Breezewood gets built. I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

Just did a Google earth search on that property across the street you showed us (that was boarded up) that is the original Sheetz location apparently.

I went to this wendy's many years ago, it literally took almost half an hour for my food to be done in the drive-thru and there was almost nobody there, and was the food good? Nope, it made me sick. Doesn't surprise me that it's closed now

5:40 there are more bees nests. I remember the bees nest on the drive thru window of the abandoned Boston Market you files., an this Wendy's had two bees nest on the drive thru window, I wonder why the bees like the drive thru window, it certainly not that sheltered from the weather.
