I really enjoyed this video! Actually, there is a large cemetery behind a shopping mall in my area. The mall is definitely booming and the cemetery has been there, I’m sure long before I was born. In the mid 70s and early 80s, there was a movie theater as well in the back area of the mall. It had $3. discount prices for the early matinee shows before say 3 pm. Also, weekend midnight showings of both the Rocky Horror Picture Show and Led Zepplin’s concert movie The Song Remains The Same. It stayed in business through the mid 80s. Nothing like the current AMC theater set up I’m sure. lol

I googled some pics and the store @8:00 with the merchandise pickup was Sears and the store with the awning @3:07 was originally Belk. Did Belk move to a new location in Wilson as the company is still in business unlike Sears? Belk is the one anchor store that seems to thrive in both dead and vibrant malls.

Wilson, NC native here. Belk did, indeed, leave the mall back in 2006 for Herritage Crossing (still stands today).
