Unbelievable ABANDONED Mansion found in the woods. Explore #90

This abandoned Tudor style mansion sits on a very secluded property in northern Ontario, Canada. To my knowledge it was a custom home that was built in the 1980’s. The property is just stunning. Wildlife call this property their home. From deer, ducks to wild turkeys they are everywhere here. There is rolling hills, large pond and beautiful in ground pool. The house is massive, it has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms and 3 kitchens. I couldn’t believe how much stuff was left behind here. Pretty much every room has personal items left behind. This property sits on a few acres and was bought up a few years ago by a developer. It hasn’t been abandoned for very long. From watching the video I found out that there is a large amount of empty water jugs throughout the house. I’m not sure if the water was shut off before the previous owners left or if squatters moved into the house once it was abandoned.

My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.

I was a new home framing contractor in another life. The craftsmanship is incredible! I loved building custom homes like this as it was most challenging and rewarding. Such a shame to see such beauty left to waste. I can't help but feel the need to close all the doors and windows in order to help preserve this masterpiece.

When I see abandoned houses I think about the people who lived in the home in the past. I wonder about the stories of their lives and where did they go. This house is amazing! If the walls could only speak, and tell s the stories.

That was a really good find! Huge,not falling apart, no leaking roof, not vandalized and no flooded basement And a clean fridge..how unusual! Looks like there was a lot of iron in the water and they preferred to drink bottled water Could be a foreclosure as so much is left behind The house looks in good shape and is definitely locked in the 80s Totally fascinating video Take care 🇨🇦 ❤️

That is what I am thinking a foreclosure, our next door neighbors about 6 years ago abandoned their millon dollar mansion left a lot behind. Was odd several U-Haul trucks arrived on a Saturday they were gone by Monday the next week was a bank forecluser letter on the front door.

This was an excellent explore, Brent! What a fantastic monument this place is to human excess and wastage. I say build a nice house, and use the rest of your money for something that really matters, not vast, empty rooms on top of rooms.

Rich people must "invest" their cash into real estate so as not to pay excessive taxes. Not anything I'd ever have to do in my lifetime. But that's why they have such extravagant homes and own so much land.

This home was gorgeous! I loved all the natural wood stairwells and floors. The amount of storage is insane. I certainly hope the items left behind can be donated. That would be such a waste if it's thrown out. Great find!

@@GrandPrixDecals There are all types of people who end up homeless. Not all of them are the drunks and those "partying." There are entire families who lost their house to a litany of circumstances. Or brand new adults who aged out of foster care & don't have families. Tossed our onto their feet. There are college students putting all they have into school while sleeping in their cars. Hard-working adults who ended up sick with health battles or had a sick child they had to be there for unable to keep jobs while losing everything to the medical expenses. It's not just what the media shows you. Not everyone is hopeless.

This is a multi generational home. Asians are expected to care for their parents after retirement. Judging by the decor or lack there of, seemingly utilitarian, minimal (simplistic) along with being out dated this is the most likely. Siblings, their families and the parents. Looks like they downsized and got the heck out of the woods.

I always get so excited when I see a new video from you. This was a big house! I can’t believe some of the stuff they left behind like the drones, the hockey skates. The stairs were beautiful. And I liked the doors that had the color glass. And it was neat to see all those turkeys running around. Beautiful area. Thanks again for the explore!

What a beautiful house! I would have no problem living in it right now! It always bothers me that houses like this one... that is in great condition, have so many things that, like you said could be donated instead of destroyed. I think this house should be sold and the developer build around it. Its way too nice to tear down. A beautiful find Brent for sure and thanks for sharing.

Amazing tour, Brent! I did notice the large water bottles in most of the rooms in this mansion. How sad that they just left and only took what they felt was valuable. Whoever lived here had a lot of disposable cash to burn--I wonder if they appreciated what they had?

What a beautiful home. Such a shame that it will be flattened. 10:40 it's not necessarily true that the water is shut off. Because that is a rural home, it is on a private well. It would have its own pump, which won't work without electricity. If the power were on, the water would flow. The private well is also the reason for the water jugs. When you draw your water directly from the ground, you also get lots of minerals and sediment, which can make the water non-potable, and it's only good for showering and basic usage. That's why the showers, sinks and toilets had iron stains. We had the same issue when we purchased our rural home. To fix that issue we installed iron and sediment filtration, and also an R/O (reverse osmosis) system to create our own drinking water. Before adding the R/O, we purchased jugs of drinking water. Living rurally is a whole new way of life.

Really cool house! Like others have said, the water was full of rust as you can see in the tubs, sinks, toilets, and even in the pump room it looks like the water heater leaked out because the floor was even rust stained really bad. Looking at the state of the house as messy and not updated at all I might guess they didn't know how to service the water softener with salt and Rid-X which would have cleaned the water and made it taste good too. Country living isn't for everyone...lol. My pet peeve with explorers...not you...is how they leave cabinets, drawers, and doors open. My own OCD if I went in would be to close everything back up...lol.

Good evaluation Jay, my thoughts exactly by the looks of the pump room. Raised in the country had a well, lime was our problem. Sulfur and Iron intolerant for myself.

Gosh! I hope that people came and salvaged as much from this house as they could. It's a shame that it is not being upgraded, and turned into a home for three families! Especially in this day and age, when people are so hard up for places to live! What a waste of a perfectly good house! Thanks for showing this, Brent! ~Janet in Canada

The house was purchased by a builer to be torn down and new homes built. Not that it solves the housing issues, but at least something will eventually replace the home that was sacrificed.

The condition the home was left in says so much about people. I would have nothing left in the house and leave it as clean as if I were still living in it. Of course, some others could have vandalized! Great show! Fantastic and interesting find. Love the wild animals!

It was a terrific explore, but the place sure does not have a very comfortable appeal. It has great beauty in some areas, but the main feeling is: waste. I lost count of all the bathrooms.

Great explore! The iron stains unfortunately are nearly impossible to avoid when you have well water with a high iron content. The toilets/bathrooms look dirty all the time, even tho the water is safe to drink. Parquet flooring was a hot item in the 80s, I'm betting that house is 80s or early 90s.

Wow what a monstrosity out in the middle of no where. Had to have cost a small fortune to build this. I too noticed the water jugs and what looked like staining from iron in the sinks and tubs maybe that could not use the water for some reason. The water jugs probably came not long after the house was sold. It’s not uncommon for squatters to find places like this after they sell, but before the developer tears them down. Water jugs and trash from convenience foods are sure signs of squatter activity.

@@CoinandRelicOntario I used to live in Northumberland county and most homes were on wells with high iron / sulfur / arsenic levels. The arsenic is a contamination as a result of nickel mining 30 miles away. We installed a dual filter system then tore out the rust stained fixtures

@@loriestevenson3488 Yeah, arsenic leeches into ground water from the tailings. A lot of the old mines up in Northern Ontario are leeching contaminants to this very day, it's disturbing!!

The first bedroom and small living quarters area you explored…the butler lives in the bedroom just off the main entrance…the rest of the living quarters up those little stairs belong to the full time house staff. It always amazes me how wasteful we are as humans. To put up such an obscenely large home and then just abandon it. It makes no common sense. Great explore! I’m catching up on past episodes since I’ve only just subscribed to your channel about a week ago. Can’t wait to see more. 😊

For the home to be built in the 80’s, it sure has a 60’s or 70’s feel to it, which is rather strange. It also doesn’t have the normal upgrades you’d expect for a house of this magnitude, cost, size, etc… Super strange…

Great find, beautiful house, too bad it's going to go. I really like all the detail work, that was expensive to build and a shame to be abandoned. And who leaves 2 drones? Wow. Thanks Brent, you really find an interesting places. That flooring at 13:40 is called a parquet floor, it requires a great deal of craftmanship and skill to place the pattens and would be costly. Love your drone work at the end.

There is so much good stuff that could be dismantled and donated to someone like Habitat for Humanity. Hopefully they will do that before they demolish it. Love the video. So nice to see a place that is not destroyed by vandals..

I imagine this was an extended family situation, probably Chinese because of all the Oriental touches plus the children's jacket and the little tiger faced shoes in the self contained flat. Also they tend to live multigenerational together. It's an interesting example of conspicuous consumption. The area in the basement bathroom was so strange to me with the two areas right and left with a drain in the floor. Is that to put winter gear in to allow snow to melt and drain? Seems like they would have put racks and hooks but it didn't look like there was any of that. Seeing the turkeys was way cool. Great video.

Yep, definitely chinese. All those little chinese things like the rice cooker and that chinese jacket, the chairs, that fountain thing in the hutch. Can't imagine chinese living way out in the country like that tho. Interesting.

@@yamanibhka Interesting...something to think about. Definitely it was Chinese, definitely they had a lot of money, and definitely it was a secluded location that you could not see from the road. More than one kitchen hints at something. And the fact that it's abandoned certainly hints at something.... Be interesting to trace the ownership history, which might only lead you down the path of numbered corporations..... Great mystery!

What an interesting house. I would also say a chinese family lived here with large family. Grandparents included. That attic room was odd. Perhaps a school room/playroom for the children. Seems an awful waste to let all that just rot when so many could benefit from the toys equipment etc. That bed too!!!! Great find Brent. X

A fascinating gem in the wilderness. I would definitely live in (part of) this home exactly the way it is. I do love the parquet floors, and that basement would make an amazing studio. I'm sad to hear it will be torn down, it has so much potential. The water problems can be dealt with, as will have to be in each of the houses built on this same land.

I totally agree, but I've noticed that when water problems begin, and if left unattended, with mould developing.....it's a true nightmare, should it be torn down or repaired somehow?

@@LRyan-li9wr It could probably be repaired, but it sounds like it's being torn down to put multiple homes on the site. All will have the same iron problems with the water, but I believe there are ways to fix that. It would probably cost more to repair it than to tear it down, but it would certainly be worth a try, especially if you had a huge family (and lots of money).

Once again I could repurpose and reuse so much in this house. Wood, doors, tiles, the list could go on and on. Baffles my mind how people can just walk away and leave so many of their personal belongings behind. I really hope somebody will clear out this place and use the materials and whatever else might be salvageable and either donate it or use it themselves. Great video! Cheers ✌

Many people that are fortunate enough to be able to afford a place like this don't think about others not being able to afford things. They take for granted that everyone can live like they do. This place looks like maybe an Asian family owned it. Possibly returning to the country they came from, leaving many things behind that the didn't think we're worth shipping overseas.

Abandoned mansions or homes always leaves me wondering..what happened to the homeowners and why did they leave a lot of their belongings behind..I'm a newbie on your channel and I like it a lot. This was a awesome find. It's sad to know it'll be demolished. A lot of thought and manpower went into building this magnificent mansion..stay safe healthy and blessed on your next adventure! The homeowner may have passed away. And the children didn’t want, what was left. Or the house went in to foreclosure and the family had to leave fast.

@@paulharkins1082 I sincerely hope nobody there died! Would the arsenic kill them or maybe one of the children?? And don’t all foreclosures give several warnings first? But I would think the owners of such an expensive place would have enough money to not get foreclosure. That’s why I’m wondering about poison water.

Great explore of this beautiful home Brent! I wonder if the water jugs were there because they didn't want to drink the well water, I assume that if the house is on septic that it most likely is on well water also.

Good possibility, the stained tub and shower indicate a lot of sulfur in the water.

Yes think your right, the staining is caused by iron and it doesn’t taste very good

As a retired Dentist who made my retirement funds by restoring and remodeling income property and each of the homes which I occupied, I very much appreciated the tour of this basically majestic property. I think your tour would be greatly enhanced if you had taken the time to research and present the history of the building…… obviously the original owner had no financial restraints and the trio of owner, architect and builder proceeded with quality and excellence which I would assume was enjoyed for many years. However, to see a property of that stature fall into such a state of neglect is a tragedy and there must be an interesting chain of circumstances. There are truckloads of reusable building materials esp stained glass cabinet doors Plus as was mentioned, there has to be at least one truck load of abandoned toys which could bring enormous delight to so many children. Thank you very much for your investment of time and video expertise

From the looks of all that stuff that got left in this house, the people must of had money to burn. The headboard and footboard in the master bedroom, who could leave something like that behind. That's definitely a wow.

It's a shame they're going to destroy the doors at 5:59 with the demolition. They're so nice and probably expensive. If I knew they'd be destroyed, I'd throw it in my truck and take it.
