4 Abandoned Beach Houses Found On The Ocean in B.C. Canada. They were forced to leave! Explore #97
This is a very beautiful area of B.C. Canada. The abandoned houses sit right on the ocean and beach offering an amazing view. Speaking to a local resident I was informed there used to be a bunch of beach houses in this area. This property right on the ocean is on native land. The residents of all the houses owned the homes but not the land (Land Lease) They leased the land for 100 years. But after approx. 50 years they were all issued notices to leave the property breaking the lease agreement. The owners of the houses could not sell them and just walked away and abandoned them. They demolished them all except the 4 I found. For some reason they didn’t demolished these ones and they have been abandoned for Approx. 10 years. At first I thought there was only 3 but once I finished the video and left I found another abandoned house completely swallowed up by nature. The driveways and trails to the houses are completely over grown. The only access to the homes now is by the beach.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

crazy idea for you, i realize, however that's how your system/government acquires the land it claims as its' own. Because unless you're First Nations none of north america belongs to you.

@@dragons8822 the people in these cottages did nothing to harm the indigenous people. The natives agreed to the lease. People will never get anywhere blaming others for something they had nothing to do with past egregious acts hundreds of years ago.

OMG...What a find!,..I grew up on a beach, the Ocean would of been even MORE epic!, I pictured people going about their business, children playing on shore, with a dog or two tagging along, Gorgeous sunsets, the glistening of moonlight on the water, the sounds of critters in the distance,...Mornings with a gorgeous sunrise, the smell of morning coffee, having breakfast on the deck..a slight shiver from an Ocean breeze, with a hint of salt touching one's pallet...rainy days by the fire, gazing out at the water,..wondering what ran through someone's mind at a time like that, ..falling asleep to trickling water in the distance or the sound of the waves...a nice walk along the shore after dinner,..All this ran through my mind as you took us on a tour. Thank You for sharing, I LOVED IT!!!...the music you chose just added to the emotions & Memories this place still holds. 😘💋❤👍👍👍👍

It must have been so heart breaking for the former residents of the beach houses. I wonder what transpired warranting the Indigenous land owners to renege on the 100 yr contract? Also, wonder why they weren't able to make use of them and and why they left four to the forces of nature? That one beach house near the flowing river did look like it was beautiful at one time. It's such a shame that the area is now over run with brush and unkept, and inaccessible. Such a beautiful area. Thank you for taking us along Brent.

Family cabins in Minnesota were on land leases as well. All of a sudden the State would end a lease to sell the property and all the properties would go up for bid. The bidder had to pay for the land and the cost of the cabin on the property. The cabin owners were not guaranteed to win their bid. I don't trust land leases. Hopefully they will tear down these cabins and remove the debris so it doesn't end up in the ocean. Beautiful views.

B.C has a large indigenous native Indian population, and they are going to great lengths to reclaim their ancestral land even if it comes to kicking "the white man" off their land and they never use the places for anything, even b.c fisherman are in danger of losing their lively hoods because of natives claims on ancestral fishing rights and loggers as well may lose their jobs as some logging areas may be on native land too, So because natives were treated badly by the Canadian government decades ago "the residential housing issue thing" the land claims to the Canadian government have been an ongoing thing for years, Although they have been compensated to with packages in the billions and were apologized to on several occasions to the highest levels of government, all the way up to the Prime minister but some still hold on to hate, and are not willing to share fishing, logging, or any project with the white man, and have been blocking the gas pipeline project for years even though the actual pipe line is no wear near their homes, they probably will continue to claim more and more land and continue to sue the government to the end of time never being satisfied, So basically all the residents of the houses were all white So out they went and they did not get a dime in compensation for their homes they owned.

I drove through B.C. many moons ago. I was struck at how beautiful it was. Still is. Briar bushes are vicious. I've gone through a few in my day.

Well that was an interesting explore. The views were spectacular. I’m glad you do this so I can see different places in the world. I’m not a adventurer at all so seeing places through your lens is great.

They went back on a deal that was supposed to be for 100 years. Not good on their part at all. No one wins on this one.
