Abandoned Urbex Canada

Күн бұрын

This Massive abandoned Mediterranean style mansion on the beach was built in 1928. It has gone through a number of owners over the years. It has 7 bedroom 5 bathrooms and is 12,000sqf
This beach side mansion was bought by a Doctor as a summer mansion in 2017 for 3 million dollars.
Nothing much has been done to this mansion over the years. In September 2022 Hurricane Ian hit Florida and caused more damage to this house. The future of this abandoned mansion is unknown but for now it sits abandoned and nature is slowly taken it over.

About me:
I have been exploring abandoned places since I was a child and now I would like to film the explores and share the videos with you.
My father took me to my first abandoned house when I was 7 years old. I remember going into the house and a old farmer came in and told us "we better watch out as the floors are all rotten and unsafe". Ever since that day I was hooked on exploring abandoned places.
If you have a location you would like to share with me or want me to explore for you please send me an email at abandonedurbexcanada@hotmail.com and I will give you full credit for the share in the description and during the video if you choose.

You probably aren't legally allowed to buy it, as the legal projection is that it won't be there in 5 years or so, and insurance companies won't cover it, nor will finance companies, or pretty much anything else- the city code will not allow any new construction or even allow restoration at this point, probably so many feet within the beach due to the hurricaines. That would be my best guess, looking at the damages coastline that close to the house.

How beautiful! Walls were built thick to withstand hurricanes, but left open , salt eating it away. Shame. Squatters probably just passing but I'd sleep there awhile in my journey of travel. Thanks for sharing

It is such a stunningly beautiful home, something you would see featured in architectural and interior design magazines. I could only imagine what it was like in its heyday. For its age being almost a hundred years old and enduring a hurricane everything looks pretty solid and square, it isn't collapsing in on itself even the woods floors look relatively intact, mostly smooth. It's a shame the things people have done in there to trash it out like the wood doors and such. That blue toilet and sink smashed to pieces are very sought after, the guts of them can be redone, modernized. What a stately palace though, hate to see it go to ruin, it reminds me a little of Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach.. same time period, similar style.

I’ll bet that place was gorgeous when first built! As much as I would love a house on the beach, it would cost a lot for upkeep with the salt, humidity, and hurricanes. Thank you Brent for the tour 👍😁

Those round holes in the staircase must have been for ventilation, air flow through the house. The spot you said missed the stairs off the kitchen must have been the maid's quarters.. the bathroom wasn't as decked out with colorful tile and the rooms seemed more plain, no ornate woodwork or glamourous fixtures.

I remember seeing this home in another video awhile back, only it wasn't in as bad a shape as now.. I think that last storm did a lot more damage to the structure.. Because the ceilings were in a little bit better shape.. And it's sad to see squatters there, but times are tough right now for a lot of people.. But look at it this way.. You're in beautiful sunny Florida, I hope you enjoyed it while you were there..

I could just imagine sitting in that room looking out toward the beach with a pitcher of margaritas then taking a nice nap. The reason houses in warm climates don't usually have basements is because the foundation doesn't have to go down below the frost line.

Hi, Brent. They probably can't do anything with this property- looking at how close the hurricane ate that coastline, the city code- insurance companies- finance companies- whatever the projection will be for how long the house has to remain standing with climate change and the coastal loss projections- it is probably why it was never restored. There was probably an insurance payout, and it was written off as a total loss and reverted to the finance company, or the Dr. let it go into foreclosure and declared bankruptcy, and moved to whatever else they had. Those hurricanes destroyed everything up and down the coast- this house suffered relatively little damage, compared to what I've seen.-SDK
