www.abarabove.com/cocktail-bar/ When your customer walks in, how can you immediately tell them they should order a cocktail instead of a beer?

Vermouth shouldn't be in refrigerators, though. It should be preserved with a wine preserver. Putting it in a fridge can really change the flavor. Vermouth can be good for a week or so with just wine preserver and only about 18 hours without. However, if you put it in the refrigerator, it will get a different flavor and go off within a couple days.

Interesting, you are the first person that has made this recommendation. I'm going to have to try this out. Thanks for the great reply

When you look for the right cues, you can spot a good cocktail bar in 10 seconds.

Gotta invest in those proper mixing glasses. And learn the ins and outs of all my spirits. Definitely gotta invest in proper bottles for our bitters

Started off dubious as to what this cat was spouting. But turned out to be useful information. Cheers, will fucking remember this shit.

Very true video. If I go into a bar, usually you can say withing seconds after looking at the bar and the menu, whether it is a bar with a good cocktail program, but sometimes its tricky. Because sometimes the backboard looks great but then you notice that this great looking backboard is 100% full, no bottle has even been opened. Option1. its just show and they have the same bottles under the bar option 2, they just show you the nice stuff, but instead of 100%agave, they put cheap Tequilla and cheap triplesec in your margherita. Plus the prices. If it says Cockaitl = 5€ on the Menu and hapy hour from 7 to 8 pm, well how can one expect quality

Bought four of those dispensers even before finishing the video.

I'm always dubious about whether a bar tender can make a decent cocktail, maybe a little too skeptical because I don't trust them!

Great videos, but i feel like the audio quality is lacking and a bit fuzzy.

Is the spoon with the red cap just cheap, or is there something else about it that tells gives you information about that bar and bartender?
@Abarabove10 жыл бұрын
It is definitely a generalization, but it gives the impression that the bar program/bartender is not investing in good equipment. This can throw the rest of the bar program under the same light. Maybe they are not using quality products, maybe the bartender is not passionate about what they do, maybe they don't know some of the basic techniques of bartending. On the flip side, if I see a bartender with a decent bar spoon, I feel pretty confident that they know how to use it properly. If you are trying to portray a message that you are making quality cocktails for your guests, all of the small details should be telling the same message to your guest.

That makes total sense. Thank you, and I love your videos!

In my town it's common that a bar have great selection of spirits and tools but they do not use it. It's there just to show off. Everybody orders beer anyway. There is no culture of drinking cocktails in Poland. People consider it not manly enough.

Same here in Sweden. I can only make cocktails at a hobby level and I can bet my money on that what I serve for my friends is better than what they can order at any of the bars in town.

Better option is to go to the restaurant. They have smaller selection of spirits but they usualy know what to do with them. And the prices are lower especially if you tip on the start.
