Thank you for showing a Dane a place she hasn't been herself yet.. Beautiful shot!

Thank you for highlighting a Danish trail! I feel that we often get overshadowed by our neighbouring countries (literally, as they have mountains and we don’t). Our trails are often packed with cultural sites and landmark, and your excitement at those really is infectious!

Your little talk at the end about the short four days it took you to finish this trail really hit home for me. I just finished Wainwright's Coast to Coast, earlier this month. I only had eleven days of walking before I had to get back home and even though I finished it and got to see beautiful landscapes, I felt a bit sad when I got to Robin Hood's Bay. I had rushed through all the sections, had hardly taken any breaks and ended up with hurting feet and a very tired body and mind. Getting this tired and feeling rushed really took away from the joy I usually experience on trail, leaving me feeling very guilty for feeling sad and not having made the most of my hike. Eventhough I have hiked quite some trails myself, it helped me to see that a very strong and experienced hiker such as yourself also sometimes struggles with long days and feeling pressure to walk big miles. Thank you, Abbie, for being open and honest in your films about your struggles when you hike. Ps. Your choice of music was great as always!

Thank you for this epic adventure! It's so interesting to see my country through the eyes of a foreigner. Respect for talking the 108 steps to Jon's Kapel with a fully loaded backpack! Any "normal" 😉hiker would leave it on the bench at the top of the stairs. And you missed one of the best icream shops on Bornholm in Snogebæk. I've only done the trail going across (Højlyngstien), but have biked alot and done several smaller walks on Bornholm. One thing is for sure; the coastal path has been moved up top on my list of "most likely things to do on Bornholm".

It looks like you had a great wee adventure. Here's to many more in the future. The ant bit made me think of the bit in Brendan Fraser's The Mummy, when someone gets overwhelmed by the scarab beetles. Maybe you should get yourself some ankle supports. Slow travel/tourism does seem to be the way forward.

Thankyou for this one, Abbie ❤ beautiful film and it’s so nice to see you back on KZfaq now that your main hiking season is finished. I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while, I live in Copenhagen and it’s on my trail list for next year, but info is surprisingly lacking - even my Danish friends who spend most summers on Bornholm haven’t heard of it! Thank you for the helpful guide and inspiration. I will wildcamp (legally) when i do it, and will take your advice and do it in 6 days or so, i’m generally a very distracted hiker - especially on the coast! Take care and big love. Hannah

Greetings from Australia! Thanks Abbie for taking me on your Danish holiday. So well edited and it kept me engaged. If you love beach walking come to Australia and try the Solitary Islands walk in NSW, though you will have to keep an eye on tide charts when crossing inlets and navigating steep cliffs. Grateful for your quality work. Cheers Lynn

I've really been trying. As mentioned before I struggle with chronic pain, and the depression that often goes along with that. I am also very insecure, and often feel that I'm not worthy. I've been pushing myself to get out there more. I joined a local hiking facebook group. The thought of getting out there with other people is very overwhelming. I haven't joined anyone yet. I have been looking at other people's photos, hikes, and it's encouraging me to get out there, to share my own stories / photos. Today, it's a beautiful fall day. I don't really have much energy, and am lacking motivation, but I am pushing myself to get ready and go. I know once out there I will enjoy it. This is a common struggle for me. Your videos, your words of encouragement help me get past that on days like this. Thank you for all you do

Without doubt the best video I have seen on Bornholm. From Switzerland, I’m on the island as a female alone for about 4 months every year since years (mostly in beautiful spring), and am completely and utterly in love with it. You describe in your video exactly how it feels I.e. it is indescribable. You actually filmed my house (the half-timbered yellow house at Bølshavn) If you ever feel like returning when I am there, you are more than welcome to visit and stay over - I have spare bedrooms! It would be a pleasure.

Thank you for another fantastic long walk video. I really enjoy these immensely! I enjoy hiking a lot, although I don't do it that often, and I prefer day trips so I don't have to carry a lot of stuff. But I'm a little sad that when I do go hiking and encounter those fantastic views like in your videos, I never feel the same kind of elation, awe, and wonder that I do when I see those views on videos or on photos. I feel that if I go through the trouble of traveling to Scotland (I live in Finland) or to Lapland and see hills or mountains and other fantastic views, they should have more of an impact on me. But somehow I don't know how to be in that moment and let it sink in. To feel that awe of nature. Mostly I just feel happy I have survived the trip and think about how to survive back home from there.

You don't actually need to filter the water in Denmark if you're drinking from taps, only if you're getting water from lakes or other still pools of water :)

Still about 8000 km to go! When I went to school (60's and 70's) the Danish coastline were about 5000 km. Later it was corrected to 7000 km. In 22 or 23, it was corrected to a little over 8000 km. No, Denmark isn't growing. Measuring the coastline is a science in itself and very difficult. So each time they get new toys, the country (grows).
