ABC's of Jet Engines is an enjoyable animated film, produced in the 1950's, about the basic principles of jet propulsion and turbine engines. How reaction engines work to create thrust is explained along with the function of each major component of centrifugal and axial flow turbine and turboprop engines including inlets, nozzles, shafts, wheels and blades, compressors, gear boxes, and exhausts.

It's actually called THE ABC OF JET PROPULSION and is roughly 18 minutes long! Made by GM! It says at the beginning of the film,"This film is one of a series based on the General Motors book - A Power Primer!" Don't know exactly when it's made but the 60s is a safe bet I guess... Got a 16mm print so that's how I know...

Could you perhaps upload the titles to the film online? or comfirm if Disney is mentioned any were on the titles?

We think Ford made the video, but not 100% sure. The video was probably made in the 60's. Thanks for your interest!

actechbooks I understand how the pressure pushes on one side of the balloon when the other side has pressure release through the stem. But how does this apply to a jet engine where air is coming in through the front end? It would seem that the ignition of the jet fuel would want to push both forward and backward. So what is equivalent to the forward wall of the balloon in a jet engine?
